Based on the leaks it looks like familiar GTA.
I find it hard to take people seriously when they speak about all of these high-minded concepts in reference to a game that has a core concept based on shooting people and stealing cars.
Yeah...not a great thing to see in an interview with the developers. I did notice that wasn't a direct quote from a developer though. Here's hoping that was just the author injecting his own views into the article.

I'm pretty meh on GTA games in general, so I'm naturally not gonna be someone they can impress, but I gotta say it looked boring as hell.
If you like slowly walking and talking it might be up your alley.
"gameplay" trailer and 95% of it is people talking.
Far from an open world sandbox, it looks like an interactive movie where your controller slowly moves around one of the characters from one scene to the rest.

Netflix locked up for me for a few minutes but recovered and the trailer worked.
I was pretty impressed overall.
I'm curious to how much play can be open world "on your own" and how much will be forced to be part of scripted missions.
The graphics, lighting, and modeling are downright hyper-realistic at times. The aiming mechanic seems different as well.

Looks about as good as you can expect for what this was

This is a huge limitation of older GTA games. Failing a quest because you got too far out of the "quest zone" is so dumb in an "open world" game.

I've kept up pretty closely and I don't remember seeing any official statement from R* on any PS5 pro enhancements.
I do give them props for making a point to make the game look great on the base PS5.

I feel like it'll be typical of most Rockstar games that you can enjoy the sandbox aspect freely between missions unless theres some kind of territory lock until you reach a certain point.
I dont think theres a Rockstar game i havent enjoyed and they pretty much pioneered the open world thing. Hard not to be pumped up about this title. The unknown is a draw in and of itself to me.

The ability to decide if you use a slim-jim or break the glass of a vehicle seems like a good change.
The star level didn't change when they changed vehicles.
Didn't seem to be a whole lot of gameplay shown really. Looks good though.

Agreed.
Noticed the red dead 2 secondary clothing wheel to throw a mask on for robberies as well.
