I know this is not new, just a late night rant. GTA V was like a swan song to say good-bye to the PS3 and X360.

We then got to enjoy it one more round on PS4/X1 and expand the online world

Here we are at another generation and one more go with a few extra tweaks

I know it is a money printer, but damn hurry up with GTA VI

GTA 6 is probably 3-5 years away. It’s funny to think we will go 10 years between GTA 5 and 6. That would be the same gap between San Andreas and GTA 5.

If it makes you feel any better procedural generation and artificial intelligence are soon going to allow dramatically faster game production— especially open world games with massive modeling and world design. The newest flight simulator is probably the first major example of utilizing ai to procedurally generate massive environments without requiring millions of human hours. What this should mean is cheaper and quicker game development— especially games like GTA. The recent trend of games spanning multiple generations of consoles without new iterations should reverse soon.

Hopefully the new enhanced on PS5/XSX is more than graphics and sound. A sizable campaign expansion will probably hold people over, since some of us have moved on from online.

RDR2 had about an 8 year dev cycle when they finally got started. Probably using this "enhanced" GTA V as a test bed on the next gen.

You'd have better luck having them announce GTAVI for next year than get a sizable campaign expansion.

I will say though, it's been forever since I beat the campaign so I may give it another walkthrough depending on how much they enhance the game

I always felt like GTA V was almost too much game for the PS3/360 to handle. It's kinda like Cyberpunk 2077 in that it released so late into the consoles' lifecycle that it should've just launched on next gen hardware.

That said, it's obvbious Rockstar is milking GTA online for all its worth. If not for that, we would almost certain have had GTA 6 by now.

Gone through it twice, but it has been 4 or 5 years at this point now. Probably forgot enough to go one more time.

I tried doing RDR2 again during this lockdown, but I lost interest towards the end of the Valentine section. It had been too soon for that one.

Because it’s the bonus secret game that is added onto every console.

Simply enter the Konami code and the screen goes black.....

Oh..... you’re finally awake.

If they are able enhance the visuals to anything close to those realism mods LINK, I'd revisit for sure.

I 100% expect to see a Skyrim next-gen ad following an ES6 trailer at E3.

Lowkey would love if they brought Oblivion back.

I think it will be 2021 or 2022.

And we are going to see a modern vice city.

Wouldn't mind a modern Vice City as long as the map is large. Have it designed where it's Miami/Vice City on the eastern side of the map and Everglades on the western side.
