According to a Polish gaming insider, the real reasons behind Cyberpunk 2077's delay are current-generation console limitations. This explanation, if true, would actually make quite a lot of sense, as it certainly wouldn't be the first time that the aging hardware of the PS4 and Xbox One have hampered more technically ambitious titles as this generation has lagged on.
Cyberpunk 2077 had its launch pushed back from April 16 to September 17 of this year, with Polish developer CD Projekt Red citing the need to further squash out bugs and polish the game to a sheen as the reason for the decision.
I have read the game is done, so five months to "polish" is BS.

Props to the devs for making the hard decision to push out and ensure everyone gets their best product

I'll never understand this. The majority of sales will come from the console release, so PC should never be the "lead platform" on a major title like this.
That said, why not just release on the PS5/Series X?

Watch it be April 2021 now.

I guess because the install base for the PS5 and Series X will be quite small when its released.

Because CDPR is a PC developer first, and console port second.

That may be so, but when the witcher 3 launched in 2015, 70% of sales were for the console version. In 2016 console versions made up more than 50% and in ‘17 it was an even 50/50 split. LINK
CDPR is smart enough to see that this will likely be the case for Cyberpunk as well, so you can’t really fault them for wanting to put out the best possible product for consoles.

Yep, they repeat this a ton.
