Was thinking about that, how fun it would have been as a kid to find all the fishing spots around that you didn’t know about or anywhere else to go explore

Anyone been in the skies today?

Make sure the first thing you do is go to the marketplace and download the free USA (or other places if you’re going) updates. Makes the game much more realistic in certain areas.

I don’t know how much replayability I’ll get out of it but it’s pretty impressive technical wise. Will be a late night game for me (just beat Doom eternal and that was not a peaceful bedtime routine lol)

Been playing about an hour, and it’s much more playable than on my circa 2016 PC.

Tip: If menu navigation and controls are messed up for people coming from PC to Xbox, you need to delete your cloud save and restart the game.

Don't feel bad at all about that, my rig with a 2080 would chug a bit around major cities. When I get back to my fiber internet and the kids are in school I am hooking up my son's Series X to the TV in my living room to play this game while I am working.

FYI for those on older PCs. The newest update has done a lot for performance. My CPU used to be my bottleneck, but now it's my GPU. It's literally cut my CPU usgae in half. FPS has seen about a 30% increase on my old pc.

dabbled a little bit last night.

Map is so dang outdated. I wanted to try and land in my backyard, but my street doesn't even exist yet.

Probably 2-3 years outdated.

Yeah I figured major cities would be more accurate but I flew out of Atlanta last night and the Georgia Dome was still upright and the MBS was an empty lot.

Flew through NYC and New Orleans last night on the Series X and it looked I was playing PUBG on the Xbox one

This seems like a really boring “game”

I had Flight Simulator for my Atari 800XL back in the mid 1980’s. The vector graphics were primitive but at the time it was cool. You could fly between the Twin Towers, buzz the Sears Tower, etc. Outside of big landmarks, the geography was plain solid green or blue. But I learned a lot about navigation and flight.

It had a fun-ish mode where you could fly a biplane around a small land mass. If you flew over the mountains on the border, an enemy biplane would pounce and try to shoot you down.

Does anybody use a yoke and rudder pedals with this game? I am really thinking about getting an Xbox just to play this game… used to play Microsoft flight simulator all the time as a kid… And I have a renewed interest in learning to fly.

Are there any special considerations for what type of TV you use for this?

Someone may correct me, but as far as I know, you are currently limited on what's available for the xbox. They make some yokes, but no yokes with pedals that I know of. They also make some HOTAS's with pedals, but again, you have to compromise and use a stick rather than a yoke. I know there are some new hardware options in the works, so maybe someone will eventually come out with a yoke/pedal combo for xbox.

If you want a tv that's gonna maximize your gaming experience in full glory get yourself a 77"LG C1. Trust me Chicken.

Yeah that’s nightmare fuel. Hopefully if I play flight simulator before bed I’ll have dreams about flying, which are always cool.

I've never been able to get into flight sim games. Maybe its because I've never had the controller setup.

Right now I think it’s just hotas one joystick. Turtle beach is working on a $350 setup for the fall. Honeycomb is also working on peripherals.

Definitely more affordable than a gaming PC.

I have my warthog Hotas but have no clue how to connect it to my Xbox that’s behind the wall of my TV.
