Finished BOTW. Nier Automata is definitely game of the year

Incredibly disappointed in BOTW. BOTW built an massively beautiful world to play in, but the actual story and dungeons were weak. All shine and no substance. Also, The boss battles in this game were patheticly easy.
Nier, on the other hand, did not spend as much time on building the sandbox but created a captivating story with epic gameplay. Not sure how this game didn't win.

Nier is definitely the most memorable game in years. i listen to teh soundtrack every day and regularly youtube some of the best scenes. Opening of Route C is the most mindblowing gaming experience I've had in years

Haven't played Nier, but if all you did was play the main story and do the main dungeons, you missed out on most of the game.

no, but you're going to want to play it at some point. i ordered the original on Tues night. Superbunnyhop did a recap video that covers some important things that you can watch

Just finished Horizon earlier this week and just started my 9S playthrough of Nier.
Still think BotW was the most immersive experience I've played this year.
More importantly, I think it is amazing that in a single year I get to play all 3 (and hopefully will get to jump on Mario Odyssey soon). For all the MTX and Games as a service shite going on in the industry, it is awesome to have so many good single player games this year.
