Kinda. Lots of references and reoccurring characters from Nier but none have overarching plot importance.

Is PS3/Xbox 360 the only way to play Nier?

Actually Xenoblade might be better than both

Incredibly disappointed in BOTW.

Same. I think this game was overhyped based on nostalgia, which I don't have any since I have only played 1 or 2 Zelda games before.

With that said, the attempt to try and spread out a Zelda game on a massive open world map is where I think it ultimately failed. The shrines were so unrewarding and the enemies after 5-10 hours of play through were repetitive.

The game was extremely pretty and very well polished, but as you said, it was all shine and no substance.

Yes. There's been talk of a PC/PS4 remaster, but only talk.

Listening to Nier Automata's OST this morning while at work to make it through my first day back after 2 weeks off.

Music is my life, I was a Music Major in college for 4 years:

Nier's Soundtrack is the best flippin' music I have EVER heard in a game, and the music will be what makes me play it again... not even the gameplay or story

Try and work some of Drakengard 3 OST into that. It's different from those games, but with same composer and director, it has some definite similarities. Highly recommended.

Also, I got both Nier and Nier: Automata on vinyl.

So do we believe that Platinum Games and Taro will work together from now on? I really really hope so, but haven't seen anything on it.
