Square Enix has finally revealed Final Fantasy VII Remake part three, called Revelation. It’s due out simultaneously across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in spring 2027.

Revelation concludes the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, following Final Fantasy VII remake’s release in 2020, and Rebirth’s release in 2024.

Square Enix announced Revelation at Summer Game Fest alongside a debut trailer showing the game's cast of now familiar characters in the nation of Wutai. We also learned that Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind are playable characters alongside Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Red XIII, Yuffie, Cait Sith.

Here's everything announced at Summer Game Fest 2026 if you need a catch up on what the video game industry has in store.

I know its not everyones cup of tea but I've overall enjoyed the remakes.

Excited to play the last chapter.

Hopefully this isn’t nearly as bloated and padded as Rebirth. It had some really high points but also some incredibly low ones. Never seen a game so disrespectful of the players time

I'm confused. Is this a new game or just the remastered version

I don’t see any turn based like was rumored lol.

I enjoyed the 1st one but didn’t finish. Got to the last 2 chapters and just kinda flamed out, but I did like it.

Never played Rebirth. I’ve seen so many memes on how much they butchered the story, ruined red XIII, and just overall made everything super cheesy (soldier dancing cut scene, chadley, cat sith etc) and bloated it with boring fetch quests that it made me not want to bother.

I did enjoy the combat in remade more than others, though. FWIW I was never a die hard FF7 guy to begin with. I love FF but always thought 7 is the most overrated.

This is an understatement. More lazy multiverse shite that every single franchise likes to cram in now. Horrible

That section after Gold Saucer where the bandits hold the group hostage till you win the chocobo race was objectively dogshit and it’s baffling that it wasn’t cut

Theyve been great games, especially Rebirth. They could give me part 3 with everything gameplaywise the same as rebirth and id be thrilled

I’m stoked.

Great combat. Great soundtrack. I love and dislike things in the original. I love and dislike things with the remakes.

I can enjoy both. In fact…I prefer a bit of a different story since I’ve you know…already experienced the original.

At the end of the day. It’s fun and that is all that really matters.

I finished remake in about two weekends. I could not put the game down. Still need to finish rebirth. Not sure why I was not as big of a fan of it but something just did not click for me.

Have you player Remake and Rebirth?

They took the original FF7 but split into a trilogy. But they changed up the story a bit with the multiple timelines thing, but it mostly follows the original FF7 story with a bunch of extra added in so they could stretch it into 3 games. Not a remaster. More of a new game mostly following an established story

I barely play any games these days, but played both of the first parts for the nostalgia. I enjoyed them and will probably be playing part 3 on release day

Same here. I fell like I might be the only person alive who enjoyed the old school, turn based FF games and these new ones

I just finished last week—95 hours. Absurd.
