re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Thread *SPOILERS PG. 8 and Beyond*
Started it up, enjoyed the combat. Deleted the demo and pre-ordered . That was easy

Did everyone like the combat? Was it fun? Any sense on the challenge potential?

Should at least download it. You do get a free theme for having the demo.

I set it to classic since I just wanted to take in the story but it appears that you will be able to ramp up the difficulty to your liking. It definitely was fun and it had me thinking about the rest of the game since Midgar is only a small part of the overall story. I really enjoyed the demo and I am looking forward to taking my time getting through the campaign.

Waiting until all of the episodes are released to play. Since it's taken five years just to come out with Midgar, I figure I'll either be dead or have something to keep me busy in the retirement home.

Demo is only mako reactior 1, you just get Barret and Cloud but can switch between them at any time.

It has the stagger element of Ff13, and its a hybrid of KH3 and FF15 combat but with abilities and magic done way better. I'm excited to see the materia aspect and the summons for sure. Limit breaks were also there

I was enjoying the combat until I got to the scorpion robot. That fight dragged on and on then everything that wasn't a soldier enemy soaked up damage like a sponge. I didn't like the stagger mechanic in FF13, and I doubt I'll like it here.

Having to switch between characters, attack/move in real time, and manage my ATB bar makes combat feel like a clusterfrick. I could just be getting old and loosing coordination.

I haven’t played any FF for more than 30 minutes since X and I enjoyed the combat but I had it set to Classic.

Strange to me they retconned the opening of an iconic game, the bomb doesn't fall in the original

Just be prepared for that sort of stuff.

I played classic mode which defaults to easy difficulty. Way too easy. Didn’t have to heal once. I’d recommend trying normal on the demo.

Man, if they made cross slash look that slick, I can’t wait to see what the rest of Cloud’s limit breaks look like.

I haven’t played the demo on normal yet as I’m not much of a gamer and need to get the mechanics down before I try something more difficult. That being said, most people I’ve talked to told me they were sweating bullets during the boss fight on normal mode. They say it was quite intense.

The boss fight was wild. I thought I was going to die multiple times and I used 10 potions and a few cure spells

Its a remake not a remaster. From what it seems like there may be more changes.

Am I the only one who used to mako as make-o?

Hearing Barrett say Mack-o threw me a bit.

Lots of additions and changes. Everything was spoiled already. Just a warning.

The dropped bomb thing is minor. And there was always subtext in the original that shinra was the real cause of the plate disaster.

Only mako we know is the shark. So that’s probably pretty common.
