What all items did y'all choose to dispose of before Air Buster?
2 AI, 1 Bomb, and 1 M box.

Biggest difference so far for me is that I never remembered feeling like an actual terrorist in the original. Granted, I was like 10 when I played it last, but damn.
Yeah I never once thought of Avalanche as the bad guys in the original but it has crossed my mind with the remake.

Really enjoying the game so far but man eff that Reno fight.
Yeah I wanted to break my controller in half during that fight. Then I stopped trying to attack all the time and it was much easier. There's a boss a little later that it much more infuriating.

The Airbuster? Lightning the shite out of it and the detached hands and you'll stagger it quickly.
When you stagger it, it has no armor and each hit does almost double damage.
I started off by sabotaging it by diverting its big shells. Then I equipped lightning elemental to Cloud's physical attacks.
Only used one big shell item against it because it was about to fire the big cannon and the bomb delayed the action. I summoned Choco/Moogle and commanded them a lot. After it took flight it came back too close to the catwalk and I finished it off with Cloud's limit break easily.
It was challenging but I never had to use a Phoenix down and honestly I had much more trouble figuring out the pattern of Reno. Reno fight wasn't near as spectacular and dramatic because the buildup towards the Airbuster was spectacular.

The first time since X I have had trouble putting a game down. fricking finally man. I know this is a remake but it is so nice to have characters that are worth a damn again. And finally a combat system that does a good job at blending old a new.
I’m just getting started headed to the 2nd reactor and so far the game has been a bit linear, it doesn’t bother me. I enjoyed X and 13 and both were quite linear. BUT in its linearity it presents itself to seem much bigger. I find myself walking more than sprinting just to take it all in.
The more in depth story and its changes have me wanting more. I really didn’t understand the amount or lore that is tied into the game outside of 7. At this point I’m going into it as a new game for me and I’m digging that.

I felt so retarded when I realized punisher mode makes that fight a piece of cake.

This is my biggest pleasent surprise so far.
They nailed the combat and it finally feels like a natural evolution. XV and KH3 coming out before this really helped what we ended up getting here and I love it.
You can just tell a lot of true passion from the team went into making this game damn near perfect

I gave Barrett the lightning materia and the elemental materia, so that his gun shoots lightning. There were points in that fight where he flies out of range for your melee, plus pretty much all turret enemies I have fought thus far that are out of range of melee are also weak to lightning as well.
I took all the big shells off of it then picked them up in the "treasure room" right before the boss. You can use them as items against enemies for 500 damage a piece.

Punisher mode with auto counter and the right nodes unlocked can wreck shite

Anyone else find themselves jamming out to the music between sector 5 and 6? (Collapsed expressway when you fight Beck and his idiots)

Jesus Christ the squat mini game might be the hardest thing in the game
That one is the easy one.
Wait until you get to the pull ups.

No. Not even close.
Just relative to squatting. Squatting is easy once you get in a rhythm.
Pull ups is the same core game, but they mix the button press order up. Plus you have to get like 45 to win.

Same thing I said in a few posts back ..
It is the most frustrating thing I've ever done in a game.

No real point to do it, unless you are a platinum trophy guy. I wouldn't waste my time. Just another Champions belt.

Game is damn good though. It really could have been perfect if they didn't add the dumb shite like the evil Knievel guy, time cops, and Sephiroth. They expanded on so many other areas without incident.
My only real gripe with anything not story related is interrupts in combat. Jesus, it can be annoying and unfair sometimes.
