Gonna have to go with Mass Effect as well. Dragon Age: Origins is a close second.
Sigh.... RIP old Bioware.
Also I feel like WoW should at least get a mention. The sheer scope of that world is impressive. Gameplay sucks now but I'll never forget the first time I flew around Northrend.

I love the worlds or maps within the games. It's really cool to learn the world and where you are.
I played a TON of Everquest in college so I learned it very well.
The only game I currently play is Fortnite. I know the map pretty well but it's fairly small.

Since all mine were mentioned right off the bat, ima go ahead and say Kerbal. It’s a truly unique game. I’ve never felt that level satisfaction from the first mission on a video game before. You get out of Kerbal’s (basically Earth) atmosphere. You build a stronger rocker and eventually orbit Kerbal. And eventually you actually reach the Mun (Moon). Then you can go to Mars, Venus, etc.

In no particular order:
- Fallout
- Elder Scrolls
- Bioshock
- Mass Effect
- Limbo
- Half Life (heavy emphasis on 2)
- Zelda
- Ico/Shadow of the Colossus
- Sunless Sea
And honorable mention to the original Red Faction, because frick you, I said so.

I considered it and then decided against. The story made Kotor. The world building was good, but I'm not sure if it was great.

I figure any game that lets you explore the star wars universe is on my list.

Haha fair enough. Like I said, I considered it. Just barely missed my list.
