We are talking franchises that at minimum have not had a sequel on current gen consoles.

For me, some include:
-Medievil
-SW Knights of the Old Republic (SWTOR doesn’t count)
-Silent Hill
-Dino Crisis
-Banjo Kazooie
-Jak and Daxter
-Perfect Dark
-NCAA Football

Good one.

And I'd ordinarily say HL as well, but I feel like we at least have closure.

MGS5 is way too recent for MGS to be considered dead.

Considering Konami completely washed their hands of Kojima and probably still owns the IP, textbook dead.

Well Metal Gear Survive just launched this year. I know it shouldn't count because Kojima had nothing to do with it and it's stupid, but there are Metal Gear games still being produced.

But you're probably right.

They could probably pump out something with the Metal Gear name on it periodically just to make money, but they won't be what we know as MGS.

I think it would be safe to put Ninja Gaiden in this category.

I loved these games back in the day. My best friend at the time and I played through all of Descent 1 and most of Descent 2 in co-op over a direct dial-up connection.

I really hope the rumored Star Fox game is a replacement. I'd be ok with that.

Don't remind me. That game was amazing. Missed opportunity. Best superhero game ever.
