Have you started your next run through yet?

Yes, I started on Tuesday night. Everything is about twice the runes and not about 15% more everything on their stats. I am to the point where everything is costing like 720,000 per point with very little return. My observations:

1. Once you hit the capital, the gold soldiers become mini tanks. They can take a licking and keep on ticking;
2. Black knife Assassins are much harder, they are not faster, but take a lot more to defeat them;
3. Stormveil was a push over, completed in a couple of hours including blowing all bosses and mini-bosses;
4. I did not kill the big white dragon this time around, but I killed all her attendants, I was going to leave her alone, but, she dies when they all die;
5. The Bloodhound Knights are faster and better;
6. Crucible Knights once you hit the capital city are worse, much worse;
7. Rune bears are like chopping down a tree with a butter knife now;

Bosses that have given me trouble;
1. Margott the Omen King (he and I did a dual kill, he hit me and I hit him and we both died at the same time)
2. Mohg, Lord of Blood is much harder, but this time I beat him without my son's help, one-on-one.

Radahn is whats for dinner tonight.

Another change is I now have activated my blue ring and I am answering summons to assist other players with invaders. It is a pretty neat system until you keep getting summoned to host who are hidden and rune farming. I am not into the PVP stuff to much, but when I get into fights I am making kills about 55% of the time.

Although, I did not realize people could chat message me via Xbox. I am not sure how they are finding me, but when I make some kills I am getting nastygrams. Wonder if they would be more ashamed knowing some 50 year old in a lazyboy who has only started playing games two months ago is smoking them...

I’m going to upgrade some weapons and buy some stones and probably start that path today.

Which weapon did you grab from Elden Beast? If you grabbed the sword, then I suggest doing the Moghwyn rune farm with Wave of Gold to get a shite ton of runes and load up on regular and somber stones for playthrough 2.

I upgraded every weapon I had to +24 or +9 before I started NG+ and then got like 10 more of each Somber and several hundred regulars.

That’s what I’m about to do. I duped his stuff I could get both. I duped him, Mohg, and a few others that I thought I would actually use.

Yeah, I’d say about 80% of me getting summoned is for people AFK rune farming. It’s stupid. I’ve been hanging out by Malenia’s door helping people. If I can’t find the people within about two minutes, I usually find away to kill myself so I can get back at it.

I see a lot of people shooting for 99% on certain stats, and other saying you don’t see any return past 80. Is that true? I’m at 216 so it’s a damn chore to level up (360,000 or so)

I made that mistake. I did not realize I would lose all my bell bearings. So, I am having to hunt stones again to upgrade weapons. I have the Elden Beast sword. At level 1, the wave will not kill those rolly polly guys. At level 8, that wave will put them out hitting about 2330 hit points per cast. With scarab, there is about 80,000 runes for the taking per cast. The Chicken is now worth about 24,000. Get all the stones you might need for your second run, you keep the items; lose the bells.

I am at 266, seems to be a softcap at 60 for most attributes. Its costing me 820,000 per level now. You do not see much of a jump in stats at all past 60. But what you do get is the ability to have all things open to you. For example, my intelligence is at 30 right now, I cannot cast all the spells and incantations because they have a combo. So I have dumped so much into intelligence the last few nights with little or no reward. But, if I can get my character back to 70 intelligence (Lunar Magic) with both 50 faith and 45 arcane, then I can have the most options for fighting more powerful bosses. There is very little impact of points at my level, the benefit is I can tailer my approach to a boss without going use a larval tear every fight.

Both Radhan and Rykard are much, much harder x2. They were actually a challenge. I was using the +7 tool against Rykard and it was not easy at all.

I had a little hiccup with Rykard and will get back at it, but I’ve cut through everyone else like butter. I was actually surprised how quickly Radahn went down. Godfrey and Morgott went down quick too. After Rykard, I’m heading back to the Fire Giant. I found some ashes of war I want to grab, and I need the magma blade.

Took down Rykard, the Fire Giant and Malenia. I’m probably going to grab some more stuff and go clean up Leyndell a bit. I may have killed Goldmask, but I’m not sure. I’d like to knock that questline out if I didn’t. I definitely sliced someone down on a bridge that was just standing there and I think it was him.

I took down the fire giant last night x2 on a first try. It was a close thing, but I scrapped by. If you go to the turtle pope church, I think you can bring an NPC back alive if you atone.

I'm starting to get overwhelmed. I'm at volcano manor, Mt. Gelmir, Altus Plateau, and Caelid.

All of them are options at this point. I don't know where the frick to go or what to do.

Yeah, there is a lot to do and gather in those areas. Don’t defeat the area boss in Volcano Manor unless you have everything you want out of there. If you beat him, that area and a lot of the NPC storylines are done. Second play through and I forgot to grab the magma blade again.

Confirmed, you go get a vile of celestrial dew and the turtle pope will allow you to atone for your mistake with the NPC

Nice! It must’ve been someone or something else because I tried to atone and it said I didn’t need to and the guy was there. I might go scoop up a couple of burner larval tears because I have to dump into intelligence for this one damn spell and don’t want to respec. Only way to get the stuff and the Goldmask ending though.

I used the map from ign and knocked out all dungeons/ tunnels and optional bosses in those areas. Do that and you will set yourself up well for the next areas.

Yeah, I did Ranni’s quest all the way through, and somehow missed it. I had the Elden Lord ending also, so maybe I clicked something wrong. I am going to see if I can get a different ending this playthrough.

If you did Ranni all the way through the underground? Did you do any of the three finger stuff?

No, I didn’t. I found out about all of that after my first playthrough.

Unless you got to the part of the game where you found Ranii in the tunnel with all the blood around and put the ring on her finger, I do not think you get the Age of Stars ending. You also have to have the Ranii doll.

Finally finished this game with the Ranni the Witch ending. Great game. Guess I'll have to find another game to play since I haven't played anything else besides this.
