Am I the only one who hasn’t used Rune Arcs? Am I missing out? I get carried away and always forget.

Also, anyone using the blasphemous blade? I’m thinking about giving it a shot and leveling it up. I’ve been using , Moonveil, Rivers of Blood and Meteoric Ore blade pretty much the entire game. They’re easy to wield with the staff in the left hand.

If you got em, you should use them. With Godricks great rune at least. Extra stats never hurt no one.

I didn’t use the rune arcs until the Elden Beast fight. Needed every little boost I could get.

I started using the blasphemous blade very late in the first play through and it was a game changer. You should definitely max it out and give it a shot

I got her! My strategy almost worked, but dragon fire was two slow in the second half. I found that at 70 and 30 percent she would do the waterfowl dance. But if she took enough damage like you got her down to 60 percent real quick she skipped that move. So I corpse piled her from the word go. The 5 move cp would break her pose and get her down by half. I played a five three combo that knocked off 4000 hp before I took a hit so start. Brought her down to 60%. Then I would back off, heal if needed, move in for a 2 hit move combo. As she got close to 30%, Red Bull up and go for the five move.

Second half I kept dying with that tactic. So I changed once I survived the flower bomb, I summoned Tishe and let her go to work. From there my only goal was to stand off and keep hitting her with black knife fog. My job was to hold down the gains that she got from Tishe’s work. It worked. Finally had the battle and faced no water fowl move. But Tishe took the brunt in the second half, I just kept plowing her with black knife. The math worked because of the bleed effect.

Not pretty but it worked. I now have bother moves and started my second run.

Finally beat the game. Didn't think I'd ever get past Elden Beast, but i got him last night. I had to change my strategy up. I used the Blasphemous Blade on Radagon and the Rivers of Blood Katana on Elden Beast. Also switched from the Mimic to Black Knife Tiche. The hardest part was getting to Elden Beast with enough health flasks left.

Awesome, I switched to a holy/faith build for the second run. I still have some things I need to do like the quest line for the trailer and dung eater. Also I missed another tarnish and death birds and dragons.

That’s awesome. Good job on beating her. I went in after Elden Beast and gave it a solid 20 tries and couldn’t get her past half health in her second phase. Going to give it hell today. The patch last night brought her healing back down and raised the amount of time for the cerulean hidden tear so I might have a shot

I beat Elden Beast by basically tanking the first phase with Tiche. One of the things I learned is that Elden Beast only does holy damage at a distance. So, get the Crucible night's armor and tals that will raise your holy damage negotiation. When I kept getting to 50% my holy protection was 23, but getting the armor and tals, I raised it up to 43. Effectively I was cutting his hits on my person in 1/2. I took a lot less damage at a distance in the Elden Beast fight. Also, the armor provides great physical protection for the first phase of the fight. So, Tiche and I would tank the first phase. Then I stand off from the Beast, let Tiche take the damage and throw comets at him from a distance.

holy protection

this was clutch for me beating him. first few goes i didnt have any holy protection. just adding a few talismans and buffs and cut his damage in half.

Yep, holy protection is a lifesaver in that fight.

I used my mimic on Radagon so I saved as much health as possible for the Elden Beast. Then I just stayed under it and wailed away on its weak spot until I saw it charging up the AOE or fire attack, then I ran behind it. My mimic was able to survive until about halfway through the EB fight.

Staying close seemed to minimize some of those annoying magic attacks I struggled with for a while. I'm not sure that I saw the ring attack once. The primary magic attack I had to worry about was those tracking stars...but when I noticed him winding up for it, I'd just run to the side like a MF and most of them would miss me. I'm just glad that fight is done and I don't have that hanging over my head anymore

There’s a post on the Reddit board about someone possibly figuring out how you stop her lifesteal. I haven’t tested it to know for sure if it works but it sounds interesting.

Does anyone know what was fixed in 1.04.1 concerning elden beast? The only note I read was that it wasn’t acting properly “under certain circumstances”

It works. I only have two. Need to find some more. I’ve fought this bitch over 100 times with no luck. I’ve tried summoning online players and we get destroyed when she’s at half health in the second phase. I really know her moves like the back of my hand now

It’s mostly in her second phase. After she comes falling down and branches out, we fight a little longer and she goes HAM. My incantations work decently, but the sorceries seem to be a FP drain and don’t do as much. I’ve had to stick to using my ROB and just tough it out. One of the guys I was playing with last night gave me a +25 katana with bloodhound step so I’m going to keep experimenting with that. No boss has given me this much grief. I’ve fought her over 100 times now.
