That’s where I am. Mesmer took about 5 tries with backhand blades. I’ve tried a chicken leg bleed build, my backhand blades, and a blasphemous blade build. His attacks are so dumb and I believe his hitbox is off or he has hyper armor too often. The chicken leg would just absolutely not hit him at all when I’m directly under him. The bleed splash also did not splatter in the correct spot. It was splattering near the handle.
I’ve resorted to shield and poke. Got my fingerprint shield last night. He wanna play dumb, I play dumb.

I did thollier and ansbach and they useless in Radahn fight if that is what you want. Makes him harder too bc his HP triples.

I realize now after beating messmer that it’s pretty much radahn left for the story. It’s not because I want summons, I don’t use them anyway. It’s mostly because I normally try to do everything I can on my own first and either this dlc has some pretty lackluster questlines, I broke them all, or there’s places I haven’t been that have resolutions.

I haven’t. First time I got to where you do I hadn’t killed messmer so I couldn’t. And I figured burning it might be a trigger for things so purposely haven’t gone back.
I guess I just have a lot more exploring to do

Did you find a scroll in the Keep and give it to Ansbach? After that he is supposed to give you a letter to give to the other female knight next to the 7th floor Grace point of the Storehouse, but I missed that because he leaves shortly after. Bad quest design. That’s the last I saw him until after the point of no return of using Messmer’s flame.

Just got to him, shite boss is my assessment after 5ish tries...super frustrating.

I beat Bayle, had to switch to the Dragons Hunter Katana. I thought he was a great boss, was able to learn all his moves and enjoyed the lore.
Not sure about Rahdan at this point, need a few more reps, but not havingfun with him after a few more tries. Getting to phase 2 consistently, but it seems incoherent from there.

So who does mods? What can I expect? I’d like to play the bosses with different builds without worrying about beating the game again and larval tears. I’d also like my son to play (9 yo) without having to dunk 100+ hrs just to try fun stuff.

I’ve done seamless coop. It’s a lot of fun to run around with a bud fighting shite and not having to worry about getting invaded.
I don’t have a boss rush mod which is what it sounds like you’re looking for but I’m sure they are out there.
You can also fiddle with settings in some of the randomizers from what I understand so if you want to go “Oops, all Malenias” you can do that

I just bought the standard game. am I able to strengthen every weapon I want or do I have to pick and choose certain ones to max out.

You can strengthen every weapon as long as you have the mats. There are a limited number of the max mats though so you’ll have to pick which ones you want to completely max out
I just got to commander gaius. That charge attack is some straight up BS. It’s completely inconsistent with damage when it hits and if you want to dodge it seems like you have to be pretty much frame perfect. I don’t think I should have to strip naked or use bloodhound step just to be able to avoid it
