The company's profitable business model is now at risk after angry gamers revolted over its aggressive in-game moneymaking strategy in "Star Wars Battlefront II.

EA's stock is down 8.5 percent month to date through Tuesday compared with the S&P 500's 2 percent gain, wiping out $3.1 billion of shareholder value.

Hopefully Disney revokes their Star Wars license, that would be ultimate blow in all this.

To be fair, that's where they were only a couple of months ago, but that is a fairly sizable loss. I think they'll rebound from the BF2 fiasco though.

EA has the innovation level of the Amish people. They need to go

EA is actually negative innovation. They kill studios and projects that could actually be interesting because they don't fit their loot crate/microtransaction worldview.

EA is the reason i quit buying FIFA. i switched to Pro evolution and it is actually better in some ways anyway. i couldnt stand seeing where FIFA Ultimate Team was killing the game. Konami saw how much they were making off it tho and added a similar mode

I read that this barely means anything to them. The amount they make on Fifa is hysterical.

They’ve lost about 10% of their market cap in that month. FIFA money or not that is going to be rough.

If people would stop buying rehashed sports games every year they'd die already

That farming shite is ruining matches for me, so that's another thing they need to fix.

Played a match of heroes vs. villains and a guy on my team must've done the rubber band trick because his Vader character was running in circles all game. Needless to say we lost.

I'm enjoying Battlefront but I'm alright with it being the scapegoat for the lootbox nonsense.

I am too. Gameplay wise, the game is great. Campaign was a Dice campaign for sure, but fine. The MP has been great so far (minus the issue you stated).

I have no clue why people continue to buy essentially the same game year on year. Not to mention spending money on micro transactions for a game that will be obsoleted so quickly.

Their last good games were BF3 and BF4, which had a 2 year release cycle.

BF4 was kind of sucky when it first came out though, but they slowly made it much better

Don't insult the innovations of the Amish like that.

Have you seen their fireplace and their wood milk?

Why?

Origins is a step forward for a franchise I thought should have died.
