That's not what they said. I don't necessarily hate the buyout, as I'm hoping it means PE will sell off some of the IP to other companies. I'm simply laughing at the idea that PE does anything in the gaming industry other than to try to leverage or liquidate valuable assets to turn a short term profit, then leave the corpse behind.
Like they do in most industries

I don't care how involved AI is in development.
If the game is good, does it matter if it was made by man or machine?

I don't care in a vacuum; if it's good, I'm good. But as someone who tends to enjoy narrative/dialogue rich games, I have little to no faith that AI is going to be able to reproduce a competent writers' room. Not that all human filled writers' rooms are competent, mind you, but I've yet to see an AI that can create anything that's narratively interesting. As someone who was cautiously optimistic about the (previously) upcoming Mass Effect game, this has shifted me to "hopefully they just sell off the IP; that would be better than them putting out AI slop and putting a nail in its coffin".

I hope that isn't true. But I believe it.

If it's bad, it's bad
If it's good, it's good.
As always, I will judge it on it's merits

Not all PE pumps and dumps.

While true, paying a ton of money for a bloated, hated gaming company feels more likely to be an extraction than a turn around. But hey, I'll be fricking thrilled to be wrong

PE is concerned only with increasing revenues and cutting costs - quality be damned. It ruins every industry they become involved in.
