Get used to the chainsaw, fire belch, and grenade combos because you will need them.

1. Fire Belch everything - Before chainsawing for ammo or glory killing for health.
2. 3 Runes to go after first - Chrono Strike, Saving Throw and imo Blood Fueled
3. Upgrade Super Shotgun fully, you well learn to love the meat hook.
4. Praetor Suit upgrades should start with nades then Frozen Nades
5. Patience - run and evade to create space when waiting on nade recharges.
6. Rip and Tear

I think this is a solid well made game...I just can't really get into it for some reason.

Some of my favorite games ever I hated at first, but picked them back up later when my mood was right.

Is the multiplayer populated? Thinking of getting it but worried about replayability after the campaign. Also not a huge fan of the asymmetric multiplayer but I'd be willing to try it if people are actually playing it.

Got it yesterday.
Game is fun, ultra violence is hard.
Title screen sucks. 2016 doom had an awesome title screen. Overall, I’m sad doom didn’t go the horror route. Game is fun nonetheless.

The good news is as you progress through the game you can customize the title screen, there are way better ones than the initial one. Regardless, it still does lack the evil/ominous tone D16 mostly had. The game is like that throughout, it's been discussed in the thread.

Still don’t understand how some of you psychopaths beat this game on nightmare mode. Was on the last level for an ultra violence run last night and was absolutely getting hammered. Couldn’t even get to the Icon

Icon took me a solid 35 minutes on Nightmare. Miserable
I keep saying I want to try Ultra Nightmare, but I just don't think I have it in me. I know I'd get to Icon and die.

3 levels left in the nightmare run. Not as hard as I thought it would be but obviously those last 2 levels are a whole different animal.
Honestly not the biggest fan of how it makes you play on nightmare. A lot of running in circles waiting for recharges and taking pot shots at the big guys with either the ballista or missile launcher. Unless it’s an arch vile in which case I’m popping off BFG or crucible charges til the thing is fricking dead.
Don’t know why so many people complain about the marauder. He’s actually my favorite enemy in the game once you get him one on one. I find the Doom Hunters to be way harder, especially in the arenas that spawn more than one. They’re quick as hell, hit like a truck, and I think have the most health in the game.
