That's exactly what I did

Jesus man, it's a message board. If I saw a thread on the OT that someone purchased some dumb shite I would chime in there too.

Hey sic
After I saw you agreed with me about weapon durability in BOTW I thought that one day we might ride together as comrades through the dark gates of Mordor for one last showdown
Then I remembered your opinions suck so I promptly changed my stance. Weapons should break more

I was hesitant to pull the trigger on Destiny 2 because of the lack of content and lack of raid match making from D1. I was dumb and bought it and regret every minute of it. I really wanted a AAA title to test out my new gaming PC, so in that regard, it did the trick.

The changes they're making and have already made are really good. The game is on the right path. I fully expect it to be great come September. That one year mark where it gets that Taken King style DLC.

They better make that dlc really cheap or an "I'm sorry" free.

Yep. Apparently when they brought all the streamers up there, it was really productive. Their sentiment was basically don't get your hopes up for this DLC, but they liked what they had in store for later in the year.
I will say the controls are still clunky as hell in D2. You get used to it, but I've been playing a ton of D1 recently, and when I hopped on D2 last night, it was a huge difference. D1 character movement is just so much tighter. D2 feels like you're running on ice.

I played through the dlc last night and liked it. Then I ran a few matches of crucible. The changes are definitely noticeable. I even won a handful of 1v2 gun fights.
I like what they've done so far and can't wait for the new raid lair on Friday.

Don't really get people who cheer on stuff like this.
I'll help you understand. Their shady, $%*# business model pissed me off so much I quit the game after the first DLC.
Right at Christmas when they released the first DLC they put the game on sale for like $20...advertised it like crazy, I was getting adds for it on every social media platform...what they didn't mention was that if you didn't buy the new DLC the game was a fcking brick. YOU COULDN'T PLAY IT FOR $20.
They also stripped the lower level raid of worthwhile loot after the first DLC so it instantly took away any reward, and basically any chance, of doing the raid.
They didn't create a higher loot level for the new DLC raid...they DECREASED the loot level of the old raid.
They stripped away some of the easier small group functions/rewards as well just pushing you to the DLC.
So yah, when someone says "FCK D2 AND BUNGIE IM GLAD NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE DLC" I'm inclined to agree with them.

The right path?

How about the wrong pace. We just paid $100 for a game and all its paid DLCs that is MORE restricted than its predecessor. With LESS options.
And the path is just getting us back to D1 Age of Triumph IF we pay another 50-60 bucks.
How is this not, in effect, the worst subscription model ever in gaming?

I was really hoping people would just flat out refuse to buy the DLC but it seems folks that have D2 are going to buy the DLC just hoping it gets better

Don't like it, don't play it. Simple as that. The game is improving. It has improved. Nobody is arguing that the game regressed from D1. Destiny 2 is not where the community wants it to be, but it is absolutely on the right path. Pay attention to the feedback from the people who have been playing it lately.

I have been paying attention as I play the game - I listen to what those on my fireteams actually say.
2 days after this DLC and my clan has no one on AGAIN and I can’t even get a prestige NF fireteam together through reddit or my PS4 communities.
The player base is ALREADY back to “oh well, pointless milestones” again.
The right direction is random rolls, better perks, more weapons and armor. Period.
Until then it’s all a waste of time.

Go back to the top of the page and check out the roadmap I posted of what to expect in the summer and September. That is what they're working on.

I have more hours played in D1 than any other game (something like 1500 hours). I played from day 1 through the day that D2 came out and I hate D2 but if they would bring back random rolls and stop handing out exotics like candy then I would jump back in a heartbeat.

So we have to pay AGAIN in September just to get back where we were in D1...2 years ago?
That’s not a road map forward - that’s a u-turn, and one we have to pay for. Bungie is deceiving the community by using nothing more than a work around subscription model where we have to also pay for the game AND have micro transactions to purchase what was previously in D1 for “free”.
I’m not preordering D3. I’ll wait 3 years for them to have what should have been out of the box if it looks like they are repeating the pattern again.
