The absolute vision quest the first game turned out to be has me pretty excited for this weirdness.

I was the biggest Kojima fan until I played the first one. Loathed everything about it except the soundtrack. The writing was absolute shite and it makes me think that Konami had a lot of guys keeping the whackier Kojima material in check

Kojima said you’ll be able to play music whenever you want throughout the game.

Haha the first game is honestly top tier to me.

Ill even go as far as to put it above ghost of tsushima and the witcher 3.

Im all the way in for desth stranding 2

I got it day 1 and enjoyed my time with it but never went back and touched it. This one looks like the triple downed on the craziness. Looks like there’s going to be more variety in gameplay.

The beginning of the game is the roughest part. I played the beginning and didnt touch it for 6 months..

When i went back i started in chapter 3 and put in like 60 hours over the next 3 weeks and beat the game.

Also the directors cut improved a lot of things as far as quality of life improvements.

I have faith you can finish DS1 before DS2 comes out.

Oh I finished it. I just didn’t play it much once I was done. I guess could’ve worded that better. But I liked it for the most part just not something I wanted to replay. I wonder if they will expand the online connection because it was cool seeing other players’ creations to help travel easier

I wonder the same. I think i was lucky playing it after it was free on ps5 because people had alresdy covered the most ideal spots for bridges and such.

Also since you played on release im not sure if you followed all the stuff added in the directors cut

Kojima bothers me because he is the Japanese version of a weeb for American bro culture and portrays it through a fanboy lens in virtually all his games.

Like someone said above, Death Stranding made it pretty clear his editors at Konami probably worked pretty hard for their paycheck. He suffers as a writer from something called page turner syndrome where he (seemingly) writes key moments with no context and connects them together in some form or fashion to make some lick of sense. This can either be absolute genius or in Kojima’s case absolute shite.

Probably play it way down the line when it's 20 bucks or whatever. I don't have a parasocial relationship with Kojima.

Just beat the first one. Really enjoyed it. Totally original IP and gameplay mechanics I haven't dealt with before.
Look forward to playing the 2nd one when it comes out. Might wait for it to be cheaper and the bugs to be ironed out.
