Cyberpunk 2077 is $10 at Best Buy

I just finished every ending on console. I sort of want to play it on PC now that I just finished a new build to really see what the graphics are about. But I'd only get it if it were dirt cheap or free. I was on Xbox One so it was pretty rough.

I just have zero desire to play this now unless it shows up on Gamepass at some point.

This was just a one day sale through Best Buy. Its still around $30.00 most places. The next gen version is still supposed to come out before end of the year.

i was incredibly stoked for this game.
coming off witcher 3 being one of my favorite games to date, and loving cyberpunk genre, i was expecting big things. oh well.

The visuals of this on a 3080 were like nothing I've ever seen in video games. It's like playing real life.
The game itself though, boring. I guess I'll go back and finish it eventually.

It’s such an incredible undertaking of a game. It’s really a shame it got overshadowed by all the technical issues. I really hope the do a “fresh’ launch with maybe some free DLC when next gen upgrades come out. I’ve been saving one of the life arcs for when that comes out.

I decided to get back into the game because it was unplayable on my PC upon release for some reason it screwed up my PC. It's great but it's not like the content actually changes.
That patch they just released fixed some a good amount of issues for in-game content.

I think PC hate is over the top nonsense. I think the game hate is overblown. On the other hand the CDPR hate is justified. I just finished a 4th playthrough. The game is lots of fun. I had one quest breaking bug on day 1 which just required a reboot for Jackie to stop being invisible.
I have no problem with people ranting night and day about consoles or LYING about how well the game worked on said consoles. CDPR deserves every single bit of animosity thrown their way. They lied, the manipulated streamers and then they acted shocked by console issues.
If I hear another person whine about the police system I'm going to puke..... BARF.... went ahead in preparation for the next commenter complaining about the police. I have never played a game with a good police system and the Witch Hunters in Witcher 3 were overpowered and pretty much a non system so I don't get the constant droning over the police system.
The point of the game is to SAVE the hostages, not just throw 10 grenades into the fray. I think my last playthrough, I pissed off the cops twice in 100 hours.
IN SUMMARY for the TLDR folks... the game is fun on PC. You have to play the hardest difficulty because hacking is overpowered. But the story is interesting. I like all of the main characters. Graphics are great and the city is massive. too big. that is their downfall. they honestly could have cut the map in half and it would still be huge and would still feel like a living breathing city.
10 dollars is a steal if your system can handle the game. They just dropped patch 1.3 today which fixes a few issues I had in the last play. Cops will no longer get pissed even though you just helped them kills some thugs who were attacking the cops. Oh and for the folks who enjoyed crafting you can now bulk convert 1 level of crafting item to the next level.
I'm pretty sure they fixed the ridiculous T Pose when riding a motorcycle. I didn't notice it on the last 2 playthroughs and I just about always use Jackie's bike.
Having rambled all of that, I will not be purchasing any DLC. It is clear this will not be a No Man's Redemption Story and even though I enjoyed the game, I won't reward them for their shady behavior and anemic bullshite responses.

The funny thing is that even though I loved Witcher 3, I had zero hype for this game. Some of the trailers looked like they were over the top wacky just to be over the top wacky. Seemed a little too close to a Borderlands clone.
But... when the game came out, I was bored to death so even with all of the stories coming out, I bought it and ended up having a blast.

i played 2 hours on PC at release and saw so much whacky shite that I just decided to wait. I'll prob try again in 2022

I don't think they fixed car AI but I think they cut down the number of cars around quest areas because I really didn't see as many traffic jams or randomly exploding cars.
I did see 1. Late in my playthrough I was cleaning up one of the last blue locations and in the background I saw a big truck come out of the sky and blow up.
So they still happen but it doesn't seem like they happen remotely as much as they did day 1.

I played it when it came out on my PS5. It looked and ran great, but it would completely crash about every 2-3 hours or so. My brother tried it on his PS4 and basically gave up because it was such a shitshow on that console

I made a poor assumption that the PC version was probably cheap too. It isn't.
I have no clue if any of the stability patches have done any good for consoles.
There were some folks on here back when the game came out that said they enjoyed the game on console but maybe they had a high tolerance for crashes and lower graphics.
I've been meaning to find someone streaming on console to see if the patches have made any difference for consoles.

My rig is top 2% and this game pushes the shite out if it.
