Not my experience at all.
PS4 was pretty rough. Crashing a few times every time I played it. Once I moved to a PS5 it was very rare occurrence for a crash.

PS5 eliminated about 95% of the problems I saw on PS4. There’s some quirks here and there but it’s perfectly playable on PS5.
