Sorta interesting interview with someone who played the first ~15 hours, somge IGN dude, video is here Cyberpunk 2077: We Played 16 Hours

The major things the guy mentioned:

The game is way more RPG than it is an action game. The first person view and guns blazing trailers may make people think it's an action game, but that's not really the norm. You can actively seek out more action if you want, or you can just lose yourself in the world and go long periods without any combat.

There is apparently a lengthy prologue (4-5 hr) that's sorta the introduction to the game and the world. After that it opens up, you are pretty much given a laundry list of major objectives and a bunch of side quests and dumped into the city and it's completely up to you as to what you want to do at that point, you can pretty much do anything from the list you want in any order.

Only complaint the guy had was the UI, said some of the menus were a little wonky.

Gotta keep you idiots wet with anticipation, while they think up another excuse for the next delay.

One of the more annoying trends for me in gaming over the last few years. I just want to jump into the game and play, not sit through a 4 hour prologue...75% of which will probably be cut scenes.

Kinda agree. These big open world games are sort of the biggest offenders. Red Dead Redemption II was a particularly bad one. The prologue took forever and you really had to play about 10-15 hours before the full game and all the systems had opened up.

But I think CDPR will do a better job than most. The Witcher 3 had a similar prologue section and it was very engaging.

Just based on the previews it does seem very GTA esque in terms of the world exploration and engaging enemies (you don’t run into random fights) with Mass Effect-y combat when do you fight.

Can’t wait.

I'm getting more tempted just to wait until the next-gen version of the game. With so much to do in this game, I don't know if I'd be able to do two playthroughs of the game

Playing this game at 900p upscaled 30 FPS with constant dips below that would be a terrible experience for it no doubt. It runs like shite on old Gen.

I guess I see it from a different angle in that there is so much to see and do and with different starting roles....A second playthrough seems likely for me. For performance reasons alone though..I'm thinking of waiting for the next gen upgrade.

I already have my PS5, I mean waiting for their upgraded version of the game sometime in 2021

That is enticing, but I am obsessed with going through all the side quests and whatnot so I'd probably still be playing my first playthrough by the time the upgraded version comes out.

It gives me a chance to get through my backlog (a couple Yakuza games), the new Yakuza game coming in March, and I still have yet to start Miles Morales and the remastered Marvel's Spider-Man

PS4 version on PS5 is still 30 FPS no? Very little difference.

So yeah I'd still wait for the upgraded version but that depends on playing it twice and the first time being a much worse experience.
