Same. Been without physical games for almost a decade since switching solely to PC gaming.

If resale value if one of the prime reasons that drives your physical copy fetish, then that just tells me you don’t value them nearly as much as you think you do.

As a kid or when we were in college it was helpful to sell it on amazon for a few sheckles to put toward another game

This.
If you're worried about getting your $2.75 back for COD, you're fooling yourself. I get it if the price of digital is more expensive, but the whole resale value thing always makes me laugh. What are you thinking about selling and how much do you really expect back?
Also, digital trade-ins are more than likely going to be a thing next gen.

I like physical of books and a few select movies. I also like physical of video games for resale. I’m old school

People continue to trade in a mountain of games at Gamestop for $10 cash or $20 store credit.

$2.75
I'm able to sell most of my games back to Amazon for $20ish.
I'm not one to hold on to a game I've beaten, unless it falls into the all-time great category. So I'd rather get 30% of my money back than have a digital copy sitting on my system that I'm not using.

Helps prevent companies "improving" your product. See: Disney removing perverted joke from one of the Toy Story movies, streaming services removing Michael Jackson Simpsons episode, etc...
Same goes for books, but even if I had a no "improvement" guarantee, I prefer physical copies over Kindle and the like.

Physical copies tend to be cheaper over time and take up less hard drive space. Also I know that the game is 100% mine

Way GameStop in my area handles it is annoying. Part of buying from GameStop was to look around. Now you order and they'll meet you at the door.
I'll just stick to digitals and hopefully watch them go up in flames.
