My exact feeling. The way the world opens up before the final boss area is not too dissimilar from how FF7 approaches the final showdown with Sephiroth. Love stuff like that...

I am glad I started playing this a few days ago because I am now hooked. Wow. I just got to the part where I can upgrade weapons and resources. I do have one question though about Pictos and Luminas.
So it's my understanding that you pick 3 Pictos and if you win four fights they become passive for the team? You then have to use Luminas to enable the passive ability. So does this mean I should be constantly changing Pictos once they've been enabled as passive?
Thanks for any guidance. Looks like Doom dark ages will have to wait until I beat this!

That's one way of looking at it, but you only get the 1 passive from the picto as a secondary. The 3 main pictos give you the main bonus stats when equipped (Crit, bonus health, etc...)

Definitely keep switching between Pictos so you can have the passives, else you will miss out on arguably the most important part of the game haha

Okay so this game has been simply incredible. As a Souls vet, I love the gameplay, world, characters, etc.

This game has been really good so far. I tend to get nostalgic when comparing games, so forgive me for saying this....but it genuinely gives me the same feeling I had when playing Super Mario RPG for the first time. I love the slower pace of turn-based combat like in Earthbound (and of course final fantasy/dragon warrior..though my play is limited in both of those), but the added mechanic of timing blocks or powering up attacks adds such a satisfying layer of engagement.
I finally made it through that goofy platforming section at the beach. Is that the only one in that small area? I saw a lot of people struggling with it, so I’m glad I managed to get through after about ten tries.
I'm still early in the game, but I haven’t hit any frustrating roadblocks yet. It’s striking a great balance between challenge and fairness. The music is phenomenal and the characters are really cool too.

Well I didn’t realize you could activate passive Pictos till halfway through the game on expert lol

Thanks for that info. I was just enabling the passive and leaving whatever picto was last equipped. I did not realize there was a stat attached to each picto. I will fine tune it now. Thanks.

I'm playing on ps5 and I have to play in performance mode, otherwise the game FPS drop to an unplayable rate.

Btw I’ve beaten everything 100% the game both endings on expert by this point. It’s not easy to know what to do when at the end game. If anyone needs help lemme know. Also, pay the fountain ASAP. Another tip NEVER FIGHT AND KILL the friendly nevrons
