What I’ve heard the method to party is not related to the movement of the attack, but rather the sound made by the attack.
There is a sound that is made right when you should press parry.

For me, whether to rely on sound or visual ques is really dependent on the mob or the attack. Some attacks have a lot more noticeable sound ques than others.

I still haven’t used dodge outside of the tutorial and am in act 3.
I can confirm it’s a mix of sound or visual or a combination of both. Often it’s either or….just whatever you pick up best. Sometimes a sound resonates more and sometimes a visual glow/shimmer or position of a move sticks.

Open world will have a general map you have to explore.
Other than that, you're on your own.
It makes sense to have it this way. You're part of an expedition that has no knowledge of the continent you're exploring.
Take it all in, immerse yourself fully, and enjoy the ride. You'll only get to play this game for the first time once.

I'm on the second playthrough and having a blast.
You continue with all your stuff and levels, the enemies are just way tankier and hit harder and you can continue to upgrade the lumina and weapons levels. Going to see how far I can upgrade everything.
Listening to the dialogue and moving through the story already knowing how it ends is like having seconds of an elite culinary dish.

I actually got my wife to sit down and watch me play this game. Any parts she missed me playing, we went and watched on youtube. She was captivated.

It's one of the best story lines I've played.
I know it's been mentioned before, but it's still mind-blowing that this is a product that originated in the mind of a bored (ex) Ubisoft developer.
I heard they approved a live action movie for it as well.
I hope this dev team sticks together and keeps it small. I'll pre-order their next game blindly.

So I managed to bear the flying snake boss guy in two turns with my party death bomb Verso 1 HP build lmao. Two shots and no damage taken and wasn't even max level yet. You can do some crazy shite with Luminas for sure.

Paying attention to the sound is pretty much the only way I can parry because the stupid feints so many enemies use. Completely changed my parry ability once I figured that out.

I'm going to have to try the sound thing. Mostly been doing it by feel
Will probably finish the 2nd playthrough by this weekend.
I feel like they've left this open for a frick ton of prequels. Hopefully Sandfall makes some new games based around It. The game is a masterpiece but I want more.

Been trying to decide what kind of tattoo I want from the game. Think I finally found one. A post was made on Reddit and it had Alicia’s mask to it.
I’m still exploring and finishing up world bosses. I’m tempted to maybe respect some of my attributes now that I feel firm in my build or just finish with what I got because so far it’s working. My biggest attack so far has been 600k and I know there is a lot left in the tank.

Just bought the $10.99 skin pack. Not really for the skins but more to support Sandfall.
I will say though, for $11 you get a good amount of skins
Looks like two skins per character and 1 new hairstyle per character
