You really can't go wrong either way, but I'm partial to BoTW.

Both are great but BOTW is one of my favorite games ever.

Get HZD and emulate BOTW in 4K.

BOTW is probably the better choice. Both are great games, but its hard to top a Zelda game.

HZD is my only platinum ever. Wasn't very hard to achieve, but enjoyed the grind for it.

Oh for sure. The DLC was decent, but I felt like they could have made it a little longer.

I'm gonna say Horizon: Zero Dawn.

It has better music, visuals, and story.

There's a charming simplicity to the mechanics and plot of BoTW though and it can be as short or as long as you want it to be. after the first 10 minutes, the entire game is optional.

I did think though that there was a real lack of interesting activities in the beautiful and enormous open world.

While BoTW is optional after the intro, you're not really gonna charge Ganon with 3 hearts. You still have to grind a lot to get ready to fight him. I think that what makes the game great, everyone can play it at their own pace.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and this isn't even close.

I haven't finished either yet, but BotW's durability mechanic is annoying as frick.

Hmm. BotW over Horizon Zero Dawn by a hair, but only because of the nostalgia factor.

You're doing yourself a disservice by not getting both. They are both absolutely fantastic games.

Totally agree. I keep being told it's a non factor at some point in the game, but I've given it at least 4 goes and I still can't get over that hump.

I bought both at launch which was a weak apart. I enjoyed BOTW at first more but then later ended up enjoying Horizon more.
