I had scheduled the day off months ago to get some much needed work done on the house and to play this game. Then my wife had to go and get pregnant. Now I have to save remaining vacation days for doctor appointments.

Anti hasn't posted here in a while, so we're not sure who you're talking to.

Whenever you're ready, let me know. I'll start a new character with you.

sorry, just hit reply to the first thing I saw. I guess i'm just asking everyone. I am new to this game so I don't know a ton about it like others i've played. Just picked up the first one a few weeks ago. Played offline til around level 20 before playing online.

Was just messing around. No worries.
You can play it solo, but it's not the same game. First off, the enemies are really scaled down so it's pretty easy, and it takes some of the strategy out of the game. I think I've seen one person say he was going to do this one solo at first, but IMO, play with a party to get the full experience.

Due to the unusual circumstances, I will not be squadding up at midnight tonight. Don't go too far ahead without me, guys.

The best way to enjoy the game is through Coop. I usually run through the Main Missions with my team. But you can also do side quests solo when no one else is around to play.

Cool little story.
Gearbox has revealed the role that Michael Mamaril plays in Borderlands 2. Mamaril, a 22-year-old Borderlands fan who passed away from cancer last year, received a touching eulogy from Gearbox in late 2011. At the time, Gearbox said Michael would be included as a non-playable character in Borderlands 2 but didn’t offer any details.
Now, during its Community Day over the weekend, Gearbox revealed exactly how Mamaril will live on. Players will encounter Michael in Sanctuary, a town that serves as a home base where players can buy guns and supplies. During each conversation with Michael, players will receive a rare piece of loot, as well as an achievement/trophy called “Tribute to a Vault Hunter.”
You can hear Gearbox discuss Mamaril’s inclusion at 1:19:19 in this video from Community Day.

I now officially have the game in my Steam library. Just need them to unlock it so I can play it. Going to nap some in a bit so I can get up at midnight and play. I am staying home tomorrow too.
