I replayed the series last year and not having to do 720p was a bummer

Only ME was that level of limited. The second and third games could do 1080p natively, and could push higher with some basic .ini edits.
That obviously didn't change the base textures of the game, and even with edits I couldn't get 3440x1440 ultrawide to work properly, so yeah, I'm stoked

Hope they learned their lesson after Andromeda.
Dear Bioware,
If you have a major IP with a rabid and loyal fanbase, they will notice your cut corners.
Maybe DON'T pull 80% of the team away to work on a shite Destiny clone (Anthem).
Love,
Gamers

The ending, even the original one, wasn't that bad.

And I'll stand by that. But, ultimately, the ending isn't important to me. To save myself some effort, I'm just going to c/p a previous post I made on the subject

So, at the very end of the Dark Tower series, Stephen King breaks the fourth wall. He tells you the story is over. The ending never mattered. It was always about the journey. He wrote an ending, but you shouldn’t read it. Put the book down now and enjoy it for what it was.
I read the ending, anyway. And I’ve beaten ME3, twice. But for both, the journey was what was important. Now, as far as I’m concerned, ME3 ends as we reboard the Normandy after the party in my apartment in the citadel DLC. Nothing that happens after can take away what I experienced during the ride.

I agree or certainly completely understand your perspective on most of your points however the original ending was objectively terrible. It was a game of thrones finale level miss. Adding the DLCs like the citadel and leviathan helped a lot but those first couple of months was rough for BioWare
The devs reaction helped stoke the flames too. I think most people would’ve taken their side knowing how EA treats their studios but man they torched a lot of goodwill blaming the fans for disliking it. To their credit they tried to fix it multiple times. I appreciate the journey and still do. ME3 has moments like curing the Genophage or bringing the quarians home that would be hard to top in any game. The biotic combos in single and multiplayer are still a blast. They just blew it at the end. No hostility on my part by the way and I realize I take this topic too seriously but I would buy it just punch the reporter the face again. That’s worth the price of admission if nothing else.

For the record, in no way am I saying that the original ending was good. It wasn't. And I completely understand why people found it so incredibly disappointing as the capstone to the series. It's simply my position that, objectively, it was a below-average-to-mediocre ending that people act like is one of the worst endings ever simply because of how incredible the series was up to that point, not because of any objective analysis of the ending itself.
With that said, I will die on the hill that the post Extended Cut post Leviathan ending is "fine"

It should have been a warning for the previous 100 pages, not the last 5.

I'm in the extreme minority in that a big, final boss fight just isn't something I care about. For me, the entire fight sequence approaching the link to the Citadel was epic, especially on higher difficulties dealing with Banshees and Brutes with the Harvester adding ambience.
But I'm also someone who gets fight fatigue in story driven games. There were a ton of times in Half Life 2 in which I found myself jumping from one fight to the next and thinking "jesus frick, can we stop fighting for like five fricking minutes so I can just enjoy the narrative a bit?"

So pumped. Possibly one of my favorite trilogies. Minus the ending of ME3. Wish they'd change that in this remastered version.

Meanwhile here at BioWare, a veteran team has been hard at work envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe. We are in early stages on the project and can’t say any more just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we’ll be going next.

Last 3 books of the dark tower series were utter shite. King writing himself into his own story and having Roland kneel before him was maybe the most cringeworthy shite I’ve ever read.
