Beat TLOU Part 1 last night

Despite owning the original for PS3 and never playing past the initial 1-2 hours or so (I recall remembering that I got to where you basically learn Ellie is immune).
Took a chance getting the PC version with a key from CD Keys for $21 over the break (I have never had issues with CD Keys but I was more concerned over my PC's ability to run the game as I use 1440p on a weaker system). I beat it over the span of a couple weeks. I can't recall the last time I bought a game and played it immediately and from start to finish to actually beat it.
Amazing game. I'll likely pass on Part 2 coming to PC in April, unless the specs are exactly the same as Part 1. I know Nixxes is doing the port this time and they're pretty good at it.

The one truly outstanding thing Ill say about part two is the gun porn. Specifically the sound design. Most games couldn’t make out the sound difference from a shotgun and a Luger. All the guns sounds amazing and the slide and rack you can do at the upgrade bench all sound amazing too and proper

Part one is one of my all time favorite games. Part 2 has some pacing issues and the story is pretty gut wrenching . The combat is some of the best stealth action I've ever played and thats my favorite genre.

Make sure you play part 2. The diversity and lgbt parts are the best

There’s a reason why Part II was one of the best selling PS4 games and why it’s remakes still do numbers. It’s definitely a game you need to play for yourself and not let others dictate if it’s good or not

It felt good to play but yes the story is very very dark. I'm glad I played it because the visuals and sounds while playing were pretty great. Some pretty graphic shoot outs.

Yeah it’s a shame the story is whack af because the gameplay, graphics, and, like you said sound design are top notch. I never finished it but played probably half of it and the game itself is so well made just dragged down by the plot

I’m 36. I’ve stated my position on this game like 1000 times on this board. Essentially all things that fall under the technical aspect and combat I think they nailed it very well. The story is an absolute nightmare and I personally find it horrible, mismanaged, abhorrently paced, and dull as frick that relies on shock value to carry its long run time because you care about almost none of the characters. Even Ellie became a bitch.
That said even if you love the story you cannot deny it is one of the most mean spirited, cynical, dreary, and depressing narratives ever put to at least AAA games

You keep defaulting to this over and over in any thread you possibly can without much needed context. TD needs community notes. I’d be happy to provide that context if you’d like, and no none of it has anything to do really with it being 2024 now and it released in 2019

actually just saw it. i don't care to argue what you think of the story, i just said it was fricked up to post spoilers in a thread about game 1 from a guy that hasn't started game 2 yet. It seems really immature for a 36 year old to have the attitude of a petulant child "I didn't like this, so I'm gonna try to ruin it for everyone else".
i played Part 2 and played it again when they remastered it for ps5. I actually enjoyed the story both times (even tho I had parts spoiled) through, especially the flashbacks.
