So, again I'm a rogue, and I've accumulated a lot of scrolls. Are they generally best to give to say Gale, Wyll, or Shadowheart in order to learn new spells? Should I keep some on me to use? I'm not sure how to distribute them and to whom.

I think I’m about to start another save. I just got to Act 3 but I rushed through so much of the first two acts that I’m under leveled as frick and I missed some really solid XP because I was so new to the game.

Anyone can use a scroll so I usually give them to my non-casters (Karlach, for instance). I especially like my non-casters to have an emergency Dimension Door or two for those times they may need to get across the map but aren't close enough to any casters who have it (or the casters are tapped out).
I also tend to load my non-casters with most of the magical arrows so they have a chance at doing ranged AoE damage.
Also, remember that if your character has a lot of strength you can often just pick up your enemies and throw them.

You can change them around in the inventory at will before casting. I literally just keep them all on my main character bc frick moving them around. I can just filter by scrolls then give the one I wanna use to the character I wanna use it by then boom. No action used, no bonus action used, the scroll just magically jumps from one inventory to the character of choices inventory.
Same with throwables, arrows, etc.
The only time it would cost an action point would be actually to equip a weapon or piece of armor. Otherwise it’s free movement of items at any time.

This guy had a party of 4 halfling barbarians, and I think half his combat was throwing creatures at other creatures.

I just figured it would be considered an action so I never tried it during combat. #TIL

Picked up this game. Made a half elf hunter/ranger. Bow people from afar.
Shadowheart, Astorion, and Gale are cool.
Lae’zel is a bitch.

Go find Karlach asap. She’s awesome.

Lazael and Karlach together deal some damage.

While they do, I just generally find Lae'zel to be unpleasant for a first playthrough. Unless a specific situation calls for it, I have a hard time breaking up my core group of Shadowheart (love), Karlach (love), and Gale (FIREBALL!).
Maybe in a future playthrough

La'zel couldn't wait to throw her poon on me. She may be a bitch, but she is DTF... eventually. Karlach has some of the best V/Os in the game, imo. As jmarto said, she and La'zel churn out some amazing damage (they get multiple melee attacks, so if you pump up their STR you've got some mean melee dps with a good bit of health).

Be careful with your interaction with the guys, unless you enjoy CGI gay sex scenes. After a certain point you have to actively work on your conversation choices to keep Gale, Wyll and Halsin from constantly humping your leg.

Was there something different about Gale's fireball?

Not necessarily Gale as a person, but the natural progression of Gale's class. Wizard > Evocation > Sculpt Spells. Any evocation spell cast won't deal damage to friendlies. So you could be fighting inside a broom closet and Gale can nuke mobs with fireball with reckless abandon.

Yeah, that would have been helpful for me

i used a stealth attack and killed her. the village nearby and the character in my party were hunting her. I guess I'll save her for next playthrough haha.
i didn't even get a conversation with her after shooting her with a stealth ranged attack

You don’t say?

But nah, jokes aside, the game flat out sets you up to murder her. I’m playing as a lore bard, so I talk to and/or sleep with everything. I’m halfway through Act 2 and I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been the one to initiate combat

I found her early on, and the only interaction with her was hostile. It was weird. She wanted catch these hands immediately so I had to kill her. I’m going to have to do a second playthrough as well.

haha i actually already made a 2nd character to take her in my party with, but gonna play out the first just to see how it goes because i'm really enjoying this playthrough as a Seldarine Drow Monk.
