here's some sci fi aspects that even the writers don't understand and make no sense and that's what inter-connects the games
I haven't played since Black Flag, but all I remember about the present day story is Desmond and crew saved the world from a solar flare by summoning some ancient beings that ruled humanity with the apples. Desmond dies in the process. One escaped and is wreaking havoc on the interwebs. That's my interpretation at least. Anything important happen in Unity, Syndicate, or Origins?

Nope. Ubisoft has no idea where to take the overarching storyline after the end of 3.
Unity and Syndicate didn't even have playable modern day.

I remember finishing up Unity and saying "Um...what?" at ending to the "modern day" story. Probably the worst of the bunch.

Does anyone know if there will be unique weapons in the game that all players can get. Kind of like the Elder Scrolls and the Umbra. Or will all weapons just kind of be randomly generated as you go?

Been playing it non-stop since last night. I always get the AC games, never connect with the characters or story, and move on to other games. This one is different, the combat and story feel much more engaging to me. I put down Origins after about 5 hours and never got back into it, even though I tried. Odyssey is a fantastic game, and the only gripe I can find so far is that some of the accents bothered me and seemed off. I started out playing as Alexios, but something about his voice actor's delivery threw me off and bugged me. Kassandra is voiced much more naturally and the voice actor does a great job. Would recommend playing as her!

Most of the reviews say Cassandra is better fwiw. I want to play both honestly.

Have actually seen quite a few reviews saying the voice work for her was a lot better.

Pre-ordered the gold version. I think that's the name of it. It's the one that includes the season pass and offers early access.

Thinking he meant to ask "how far did you get".

I've put about 8 hours in, and have completed the first set of missions for a Spartan soldier and am about to meet the Wolf of Sparta. Don't want to dive too much into it to avoid any potential spoilers. The story has really grabbed me so far. My character is almost to level 11 now and I've completed a lot of side quests. The game has so many things to do. I know some look at it as clutter, but none of it has felt monotonous or grindy. I think having more loot and rpg elements make it feel more fresh.

I just can't play as a woman lol. A woman Spartan at that.

Oh I forgot about that. I will not pay to support this practice

I feel like I need to finish Origins before I even consider getting Odyssey. Bad thing is it's on my PS4 and I'm really reluctant to purchase it again on PC.
I'll wait a year or so to get it on sale. I only plan on paying release day prices on two games this year. BFV and 76..........maybe.

Been playing Odyssey early on PC since I got the ultimate edition and I've been loving it. Glad they brought ship navigation back like Black Flag did.

Am I the only one that couldn't care less about the ship stuff? I get why people would like it, but honestly every stretch I've done with it, in Black Flag or Origins, I've been ready to move on to the next part pretty quickly.

I felt the same way. The ship battles I care nothing about, although I don't hate it.

Have never like the sluggish controls (obviously that's how an actual boat of that size would handle, more or less), and the cannon combat just isn't that fun to me.
