Sorry if that isn't the official title. Saw the first promo for it last night, but it's not coming out until November.

I haven't played a COD game in forever, but I love WWII history so I'm thinking I might check that one out.

People are wishful that it's truly going to be a throwback to the glory days of COD, and hopefully so. This generation has been super vocal about their disdain for the futuristic shooters, so we're crossing fingers that they'll actually be able to deliver.

They'll have to bridge the gap somehow, though. Playing COD4 remastered was fun for a bit, but the gameplay is really dated and slow. Keeping it simple and modern is going to be a tough task IMO.

what sic said.

it's just kind of a wait and see for most of the COD fanbase. They've destroyed our trust in the last few iterations with shite shows. so i'm leery to put down that pre-order with just a trailer until i can see gameplay, game mechanics and more importantly how they balance the WWII weapons/gear/gadgets/scorestreaks/technology with a play style that won't be boring, but yet won't be complete fantasy bullshite.

Boots on the ground is a term I hear ad nauseum and it makes me chuckle. I hope this game is good, but it will need to appeal to both the minimalist COD4 fans and the fried bacon gun skin fans simultaneously.

how so? other than diving/sliding/jetpacks, has the gameplay really changed that much? you aim/shoot with the same buttons. you jump, crouch, melee, reload, throw grenades the same way.

Mainly the pace. It's what people would complain about with some of the old halo games. You feel like you're running through mud. I don't need jumping or jet packs, but the power siding is something I'm just used to and hate not having it.

As good as it looks, I'm not getting my hopes up yet. After playing so much Battlefield and going cold turkey on COD, it'll be tough to come back to hard/no scoping and spray and pray style that COD offers. I'll probably be good at it though because of how easy no scoping was for me

A welcome addition to CoD.

Too bad political correctness is going to plague it by removing swastikas and other Nazi symbols from the game.

I am actually looking forward to it. I like FPS games but not really into anything out at the moment. Will be checking it out for sure.

I see the appeal for people that are tired of space shooters, but I had my fill of WWII FPS games 10-15 years ago. Feels a bit recycled for me, but I've been over FPS games for a while now anyway.

Now, put together a great single-player campaign? I might be slightly interested. But that's not what those games are about.
