This wasn’t the first series that I played on PC, but it was one that pushed me hardcore into PC gaming and to ditch consoles. Looking forward to Thrones of Brittania in April and for Three Kingdoms later this year. Warhammer I and II are great games and I love them, but I definitely prefer the historical games. Would love a new Empire game in the style of Rome II and Attila.

Rome Total War was the bomb. Taught me troop movements and cavalry maneuvers like a modern day Patton in case Red Dawn ever goes down.

The Total War: Warhammer games are great, but I hate how they took out naval battles

Empire is my favorite. Logged like 200 hours on it. Wish they would remake it. Played a lot of Rome, but didnt like Rome 2 nearly as much.

I will always be grateful for TW for getting me into the grand strategy genre.

Rome Total War is a great game. Still play it occasionally, but nowhere as much as I used to.

Same. I’d love a remake of Empire that also incorporated Napoleon. From the Seven Years War to the Napoleonic Wars/War of 1812.

I love the total war series. But to this day I still hate how enemy reinforcements can spawn behind you when they are on the opposite side of you on the campaign map.

I only noticed this happen in Empire.

Mine too. Wish it had a little more depth and went through into Napoleon.

if we could get EU4 with a total war style battle system, life would be mostly complete.

I really like Rome 2 and still play it a fair amount. Currently been a bigger fan of HOI4 though. So much more control, sometimes bit overwhelming.

Big total war fan, I'm not like most of the fanbase as I prefer the fantasy based ones instead of the historical ones. Shogun 2 was a lot of fun, but I find that the UI and maps are too cluttered or boring compared to those. Still playing TW Warhammer II with the Tomb Kings expansion.

I enjoyed WH1 and 2, but the fanboys who only play the WH games are some of the most toxic people on Steam and reddit who are now crying that WH3 isn’t coming out this year. If they’re gonna do licenses games, I hope they can get the license for LOTR or GOT.

Anybody can't get their Rome tw2 to work on steam? Googling it brings up forums where nobody can get it to work recently. I've already tried reinstalling

Perhaps my favorite series of games. I've played almost all of them starting with the original Shogun at release. Some have seemed less appealing- Napoleon and Attilla - than the AAA counterparts they spun off of, and thus I haven't played them.

I also haven't played the Warhammer ones. CA is getting very money whorish keeping the base game prices up, releasing full priced sequels a year later, and churning out relatively expensive DLC. So I am waiting for another historical one because that is where my interest lies.

ETA: I tend to like newer games due to improved graphics etc, but I went on a MTW2 kick the past year or so and I think it is the best game all around.
