I had a blast replaying Banjo Kazooie on the Switch emulator. Mario Golf.. not so much.

Perfect Dark. It was 10 years ahead of its time and still holds up amazingly well in replayability.

The first two Donkey Kong Country games are still absolute bangers, as are most Zelda games (other than 2 and anything involving a Wii-mote).

On the other hand I find Goldeneye to be basically unplayable and I loved that game as a kid.

I played the crap out LJN games on NES....Karate Kid, Jaws, T&C Surf Designs.. etc... a lot us of did. Terrible games. Most of the classics still hold up pretty well. Im doing a replay of the entire Metroid series right now and with the exception of the first game NES game (GBA Zero mission is far superior) they hold up amazingly well.

Most people will say that Goldeneye doesn't hold up, and in terms of multiplayer I would agree, but single player it is still a blast to play through on the highest difficulty

N64 games in general have bad controls so you have to fight through that a little bit in modern times to get used to them again.

Legend Of Zelda, Super Dodge Ball, and Mike Tyson’s Punch Out hold up.

Metroid is a game which really doesn’t hold up because of the improvements made in the sequels such as Super Metroid which make it a lot more user friendly. There is a reason why I prefer Zero Mission to classic Metroid.

I played Kid Icarus from the NES on an emulator the other day. It was just as much fun (and frustrating in a good way) as in the 80s.

Game that held up well - UN Squadron on snes. Was one of my favorite games as a kid and still really fun to play now. Although the harder difficulties can be unbearable

Games that didn’t - the battle toads games. I knew they were bullshite as a kid but still had fun with them. As an adult I can’t get passed just how much bullshite they are.
