Sure. I think you can dig on another person's island if you're "best friends" with that person on the in-game friends app. But if that don't work I'm happy to just stop by and plant em myself.

Yay that'd be great. I can play in the morning tomorrow and anytime before 4 on Sunday. I can leave you a couple Nook Miles tickets

Man I got the worst time of year to get a big fish island. On top of shark season not yet starting, there's only a few high value big fish right now. I fished it for almost an hour and it was 98% sea and black bass.

Is fishing the best way to make money in this game? Pretty much all I’ve been doing grabbing 20 baits fishing and selling for anywhere from 15-25k depending on this fish. Is there something else I’m missing that might be either quicker or more bang for the buck?

Non-native fruit trees pay pretty well for almost no work.

Under certain conditions you can hoard very pricey bugs in bulk. Getting the right conditions is a bit of a crapshoot, but the payoff is very handsome if you're patient.

These two methods don't require you to be a social gamer.

On Sundays you'll find a lady selling turnips on your island. Turnips act like stocks--their selling price changes throughout the week. If you play alone, the payoff might not be worth it. But if you're a social gamer (and if you have an online subscription), you can visit other islands, where turnip prices vary.

Social turnip selling is by far the most effective way to make money in this game. Even among a small group of players (like us in this thread), someone is bound to get a turnip boom, which can yield 4x, 5x, even 6x your initial investment. And there's no limit to the turnips you can buy. I made 4.5M bells in profit last week from an initial 1M investment.

You'll see us in this thread posting our turnip prices from time to time.

Big fish make a lot of bells but they're not easy to catch.

The easiest way to make money is 1) through the turnip market by buying in bulk and selling high (300-600 per turnip) or 2) using Nook tickets to find the right island to transform into a scorpion island.

Turnips, if done right, can make you several millions in a week. Scorpion island is worth 312k bells each time if you spend the time to stack your pockets with 39 + a net. However if you wait for flick and stockpile, you make 468k for the same haul, at which point you stack your storage with them and sell them all at once.

Damn that’s really good advice, I’m excited for Sunday to try out the turnips.
I went to my shop and they were buying them for 57 bells today so that kind of scared me

Few random questions based on you guys’ experiences:

FINALLY getting the upgraded Nooks cranny shop. They will be closed all day tomorrow. Has this always happened on a Sunday for you guys too? I assume because of turnips. Or did I just luck out?

Also, I’ve only ever had a single campsite visitor ever. The first one that moved in. Never had a second camper in what must be over two full weeks of time. Do they quit after you have 10 villagers? Everyday I wait for morning announcements hoping for one and never anything.

Lastly, any one know if it’s possible to get island visitors like Redd, Saharah, Flick on a Saturday ? Or is Slider the only person who shows up Saturdays for his concert. I hate Saturdays

TIA

1) There's a built in timer (I think 30 days from when you get the first Nook's Cranny) plus a spend level in the shop you have to achieve to have the shop upgrade to the big one. You're lucky it happened on a Sunday - it shouldn't screw your turnip predictions up. The week the played-since-launch people got upgraded was a nightmare for the stalk market because it happened on like a Monday or a Tuesday.

2) I have had very few campsite visitors - the first one is required to move in per game mechanics. You will eventually get a campsite visitor here or there, but you could go weeks without one. If you are full 10 villagers when you get a campsite visitor they will offer to pick someone at random to replace if you talk them into moving.

3) KK Slider is the only Saturday visitor and Daisy Mae is the only Sunday visitor. The others are M-F visitors, with a guaranteed visit one day a week from Saharah, Lief and Kicks, and the other two days you will get a visit from either Flick, CJ, Label, Gulliver or Redd. Whoever you don't get has a bonus to their percentage chance to visit the following week.

I screwed with time traveling today and I'm not proud of it.

This morning had been a week since Wendy moved. Ellie was the next one up. She's only been here a week so I didn't expect her to want to move this quickly. I told her no.

Then I started a day by day time traveling process where I ignored Hamphrey and talked to everyone else. I didn't touch Nooks or anything else, just focused on talking to all villagers minus Hamphrey. On Saturday, 5/30, Hamphrey asked to move.

Once I set the date back to real time, villagers are coming up to me to tell me that Hamphrey is about to move. I expect him in boxes tomorrow.

ETA - Hamphrey had a bubble over his head when I finally did talk to him. Ignore them until they get the bubble over their head.

Ahhh yeah that’s what I was wondering. In my mind I was thinking it made sense for it to close on Sunday because of turnips being sold. Imagine it happens on the day you are due for a projected 600+ spike. That would suuuuuuuuuck

Does only 1 person ask to move per week? Is that a set part of the game? Or can it be random times and multiple villagers in a week?

I really gotta get snooty off my island (I was hoping to do it organically if possible but I don’t know how long I can wait her out). Also I recently quit talking to Sylvia my original move in day 1 kangaroo. She doesn’t ever approach me like others do. She’s worn out her welcome as far as I’m concerned
