I'll add that there's probably no bigger bang for your buck out there right now. $60 seems steep but my wife and I have already sunk close to 300 hours into it, and there's still a shite-ton of stuff we haven't unlocked and about a quarter of the island is still underdeveloped.
Only real drawback is that you only get one island per console (not per game, but per the whole damn Switch). Plan accordingly if you expect to be playing with other people.
