My dream address is DA-4784-2543-5388 if anyone would like to visit my island. I have covid so I’m out of work for the next 10 days so I’ll happily visit other islands as well.
As soon as I kick Timbra the sheep out, my villagers are almost all highly coveted: Julian, Audie, Beau, Zucker, Marina, Octavian, Aurora, Drago, and Reneigh

So I've decided to do a full reset of my island. Would anyone be willing to store some cash/items/tickets for me?

Ya I can just let me know dude.

I'm about to do the same thing. I'm starting to move all of the buildings to the beach.

New stuff today in Nooks Cranny and Nook Shopping. Nooks Cranny will have a 4 reaction DIY set for 19,500 bells and a seasonal item for Festivale. Nooks shopping has Valentine stuff.

I can’t read 170 pages so any tips for a new player?
I just learned not to eat before mining rocks. Hit the rock once, break it and no iron. It took WAAAY longer than it should have to collect the 30 iron to build the shop.
Any other tips of stupid shite I might or might not be doing?
Where I am: I just built the additional three houses, got the ladder, and opened the art exhibit.

Your rocks will respawn one a day. If you hit all of your rocks as fast as you can with a shovel you should get at least 3 iron per rock. If you fly to 3-4 islands using Nook Miles ticket and do the same thing, you should have plenty of iron afterward. Could probably get 30 iron pieces in well under an hour. Admittedly I had no idea either when I started.

Consider the rock the center of a 9 square grid like the Brady Bunch screen/Tic Tac Toe board. The rock is Square 5. Stand in one of the corners - let's say Square 1 on the northwest side- facing the rock diagonally. Put a fence or dig a hole or plant a shrub above Square 1 and to the left of Square 1. You should be able to hit the rock fast the full number of times before it stops letting you hit it, because every time the shovel pushes you back you hit those hard things behind you and don't ever get pushed so far back you can't hit the rock.
If you plant a tree, it won't grow if something is too close to it, but once it's fully grown you can eat a fruit and dig it up and move it, and grown trees can sit a lot closer to other trees than ones that are still growing. You can also eat a fruit and dig up / steal a whole arse tree from a mystery island, so if you find a fruit tree there you don't already have, or bamboo trees, or coconut trees, just eat a fruit and dig it up and take the whole tree home. If you dig it up covered in fruit it will still have fruit on it when you replant it on your island.

Also - if you are keeping up with it - every day you will have 2 weeds spawn, 4 fossils, 1 message bottle on the beach, 1 golden money spot, 5 wasps in trees, 2 furniture pieces in trees, and M-F every day you should have one island visitor. You can order up to 5 things per day for yourself from Nook Shopping, including one random KK Slider song, and you can reorder most stuff you've picked up / touched before from the Nook Shopping catalog.
Once you see Mabel, if you buy from her enough she'll let you build the tailor shop, and if you talk to her sister Sable in the back of the tailor shop for 10-ish days in a row, she will warm up to you and start giving you pattern sets you can use to customize your furniture. I think there are 10 or so pattern sets, you can get a new one once a day once she starts giving them out until you have them all.
Check the recycle bin every day and check the Nook ATM terminal in Resident Services every day - there's always a chance of a free item showing up in the recycle bin, and if you check the ATM every day it builds up a streak to help you earn nook miles.
Nook Shopping sometimes has seasonal offerings - there's a far right tab in the selection screen where you can see limited time offers. Right now there's some football themed stuff and some Valentines Day stuff, and the colors of the megaphones and valentines candy/flowers change every day through the available options.

You just go around shaking trees until you find them?

Yep, but always do it with your net out. There are at least 5 wasp neats per day on your island and wasps sell for a nice 2,500 bells a piece.

Yep - this! At least until you've encountered 5 wasps for the day.
ALSO, every Nook Miles island that has non-fruit hardwood or pine trees has at least 1 wasp and 1 piece of furniture.
There is also a certain number of the non-fruit trees that will have bells come out of them but it's usually like a tiny 100 bell drop for 15-20 of them, not worth farming but don't be surprised if you see it!

Is this true? Why are some villagers more desirable than others?

It varies - a lot of villagers can be summoned with Amiibo cards to the campsite but some aren't available that way. Some have really cool house interiors. Some have a somewhat unique model (there are a billion bird villagers but only three Octopus villagers, there are horses but Julian is a unicorn, there are cats but Anhka looks like a Pharoah, there are dogs but Lucky is a mummy, etc.).
It's also about the island balance - each villager has a personality type, and in order to get the most out of your island, it pays to have one of each type around. If that's the case, people then want to know who the best lazy villager is, who the best jock villager is, etc.

Sometimes the ones who are highly rated just don't impress you. For example Marshall was highly rated and popular but we just weren't impressed with him all that much. We ended up getting Ankah's amiibo card and calling her in, kicking Marshall out. It is kind of up to your personal preference. I would suggest going to dream islands (not mystery islands) and talk to the different villagers. You can get a feel of what they are like.

Ketchup is the best. I’m not sure why she’s not more highly rated online. Feels like half the posters here have her now. She throws great parties too
