This is old news to many, but I never knew this to be the case until now.

McCormick & Company Inc. owns Zatarain's, which is based out of Sparks, MD.

Interesting, I find.

Nothing says local like boxed shitty jambalaya with cheese, or the baked cod with creole sauce recipe on their homepage.

Once I started seeing the commercials where they say 'jam'balaya instead of 'jum'balaya up here in the NE, I nixed them off the list....

I didn't know people from Louisiana really used that crap.

the only product that i see any locals use is their seafood boil stuff, which is solid. Their other shite is awful.

It does seem more geared to a national base, not locals.

I think it has been like this for over 2 years with Mc Cormick owning them.

Although they are owned by McCormick, they are still ran by local New Orleans people. I have dealt with them quite a bit and most of it seems like it has stayed the same. But I would much rather deal with a real local company than one owned by an out of state company.

One would hope they don't use it. As said above, other than the boil products, there's nothing worth using. One other thing I use is the bottles of cayenne pepper. That's it.

That cheese thing is just nasty to think about.
