R&Os is my favorite shop but the veal Parran is the best poboy in NOLA. Yeah ... I said it.

If I go to R&Os I get something different.

If I go to Bears I get Roast beef same with Joe Sepie's

If I go to pretty much anywhere else I get Shrimp or oyster. Shortstop doesn't mess those up so they made my list of metaire places.

But I know more Kenner and NOLA places.

I wouldn't get roast beef out here, but Kenner Seafood and Smitty's have great fried poboys.

Check in Check out is good for a cheap po boy, but not ideal. I'm still hunting for a good roast beef out here.

But I have been going to the Vietnamese place for my sandwich fix lately.

info?

Never heard of it. Have you tried the BBQ restaurant on Williams?

I try to eat in Kenner a good bit, but with NOLA being so close it's hard to stay in Kenner on date night when the city is right there. I think once we get a decent movie theatre it will be easier to keep the date in Kenner. Rather than the usual jaunt to Mid-City/Uptown then Earhart to Elmwood Palace.

Like tonight 7:00 @ Serendipity, 9:30 movie.

Didn't care for the BBQ place at all. The next place I want to try out there is Graces International Cuisine. Have you been there?

Edit: Willams seafood is on Williams by the Winn Dixie on Vintage. Nice Viet people run the place and they serve pho sometimes too. They are limit on what they can sell though b/c of the Chinese place being in the same strip mall.

I got an oyster poboy from a dump accross from Fisherman's Cove back in June. It was pretty damn good...fried the oysters in front of me. Had a messican grocery and chicken ranch behind it and across a fence.

Koz's in Harahan and the one in Lakeview is pretty good too. LINK /
They make sandwich loaves too.
The one in Lakeview is on Harrison where Charlie's Deli used to be. Not far from Metairie at all.

Not a fan of Bears.

I like Short Stops roast beef.

I love Quick Check. It never gets any love but all there poboy are good.

Lately I have liked Kid Creole, and Poboy King.

I got the roast beef and thought it was nothing special. I might have had lofty expectations, from my northshore friends who rave about it. I also had a piece of the roast beef on hamburger they serve and didn't find it all that good.

Not saying its bad but IMO, it's not a top 5 metry poboy.
