I'm pretty sure the Sam's has already opened and closed. I know it was open back in October or November.

The stretch of Sherwood from the interstate to coursey is hard on restaurants. Some make it some don't.

Last year at this time, I heard from a good source that Galatoire's was set to close. It didn't obviously.

My mom told me this when I was in town last year. I thought she just made it up because she didn't feel like making the drive to eat there

I’m surprised it’s lasted this long in that obscure location.

I don’t know if they are going t close, but they are going to lose about $60-70k simply because the U.S. did not make the World Cup in soccer this year.

they actually have a great crowd for for the euro league on sat and sun mornings, and a decent crowd at lunch, no clue how their dinner crowd is

I could be wrong but I believe they have already closed down. The parking lot has been empty for a month and I noticed a big sign on the door yesterday when in traffic. I couldn’t read it from the road but it didn’t look good

Stabs on Jefferson. Food is good, but there's entirely too much established competition within a couple of miles.

They have one of the deepest pockets in town behind them. Doubt they close.

So you haven’t been there or don’t understand the investment he’s made in the place. Either way, it’s an expensive place that will do great for years

My gimme pick for the year this year is Canefield Tavern. I'm honestly surprised that they survived the summer

Agree. Was really good at times, but erratic service & waitstaff, and a recent menu change has sealed its fate.

You are correct, sir. I think they were open for two or three months. I have a photo on my phone of the NOTICE TO VACATE letter, dated 11/29/2017.

That's a ballsy call. From what I can tell, from my own observations, is they dug a big hole for themselves with that restaurant. They've invested so much time, money and pride in the restaurant that the only way they will close it this year is if people completely reject it. I don't think that will happen, but frankly, I don't think it's gonna be anywhere near as popular as they had hoped. I think it's gonna struggle.

Whoever said Serops is out of their mind.

I’ll mention the Another Broken Egg downtown. I don’t know how they keep the lights on, as I hardly ever see anyone in there at breakfast or lunch and they don’t open for dinner. The closest hotel is the Hampton Inn, where people can get a free continental breakfast. I’ve never had a problem with their food and the service is fine, but I’m sure the rent in that IBM building is astronomical, unless CPRT is subsidizing them or something.

I agree on another broken egg downtown. I’ve eaten breakfast there twice last fall and was the only person in the place. Was a great meal though!
