Whats the street breads situation now?

I think they both closed. If not, the one by the Perkins Overpass is on borrowed time.
I can't get over that Bullfish is still open. It just seems dead.
Is Louis DeAngelo's on Bluebonnet still open? I saw they had a sign there a few months back about how they were no longer selling alcohol. That's OK, because beer and wine don't go well with pizza and pasta.

Pretty sure Boil and Roux is on here somewhere...

Had a meeting set up with some folks and they picked there.... it’s closed today. No cars, nothing... wonder if they are done.

I knew nothing about that place and ordered take-out one evening. I was the only white guy in there

Nothing wrong with that but it kind of surprised me right there on Coursey

Yeah it's a weird area. You have decent neighborhoods right across the street from Southpark and Sherwood Acres.

Boil and Roux is also in somewhat of an inconvenient location if you are coming from the opposite direction.

Definitely not as refined of an area as it was 20 or so years ago

I've never felt unsafe around there. We don't live that far away actually. Unfortunately, apartments almost always eventually go to shite in BR when they get old.

Yeah I try to stay out of Southpark

I had to go down there to turn around trying to find a place to park near the firestation and was surprised how rough it has gotten.

I remember going there with my mom when I was a kid and having to wait for her class or whatever she was doing. This had to have been mid 80s. Eventually she switched to the Wallbanger on Monterrey

Breck's definitely looks closed

There are "closed for renovation" signs on the doors, but a large available for lease poster in the window

The owner of Boil and Roux is in jail for bank fraud.

I'm pretty sure Boil and Roux also has some monster food trailer that had to have cost $100k. No way do they make anywhere near enough to justify that.

I passed by yesterday evening and all the chairs and tables were stacked on each other inside. It's a safe bet they are not reopening.

The Shrimp Basket on Sherwood won't last long. They have a brand new building to pay for and absolutely nobody is ever in that parking lot. Someone is going to get that building for a steal in a few months.

Foxy actually lived in my neighborhood I grew up in. I was a minute bike ride from his house. I got tired of fishing my parents pond so I ventured to his property at the end of the big lake in our neighborhood. He started fishing with me then let me use his paddle boat. Loved that guy. He randomly stopped in my work about a year ago to come see me and talk for a few minutes. It had been 15 years or so since I last saw him and fished daily on his property. He is that kind of guy.

I might need to drop in and reconcile that fishing connection now that I have two youngsters of my own.
