I always found Snake and Jake's to make me feel bad. Bad for still being awake at the times we would go there and hanging out there. I always felt like that was the bar from Star Wars to me. Would walk in and feel so out of place and awkward and look around and almost everyone in there was out of place and awkward also.

Henry's on Magazine is a terrible bar but it is actually one of my favorites.

No way. Henry's is a nice neighborhood spot shouldn't be on the list.

I will agree with Balcony Bar. The draft beer taste horrible and even though the place is a shite hole they wont let you walk in with a dog to just grab a beer to go. F*ck em.

Manning's is a shitty bar.

That and the service and food both suck really bad also

Amazing that you could have a location that good and be that terrible

Owner must be a miserable drunk

10-15 years ago it wasn't that bad. They used to do 25 cent chicken wings on Wed nights are something like that. They were pretty good.

That's why they can get away with it, sadly.

IIRC, he's part of the local "Turkish mafia" and clearly runs the place on the cheap.

Buddha's Belly is pretty bad. Smells like a hard boil egg fart in there with all those washer machines. I don't see how people eat there.

The original Ms Maes was one of my favorite spots. We would drive in after getting off work in BR when we closed the bar. Stay there until 6 or 7 am and head back to BR. That place was so dark and smoky most people wouldn't go there now

I pretty much walk my dog by this place every morning. You should see the people coming in and out this place during the week at 7 am.

I used to be a big fan of Parlays, but now it seems way too small and way too smokey. I don't mind your usual smoking bar, but when I come home from there I feel like I just climbed out of an ash tray.

I can deal with smokey

I just don't like bars that are long and shallow like that

There's essentially a long arse choke point to get to the back. It's not as bad when they open the side doors and you can stand in the alley, but they don't do that for some reason.

Probably have seen a couple of my clients.

Seriously, I did have one call me from Ms. Maes at 7:30 one weekday morning asking if I could give them a ride downtown.

+1 on parlays. There's no circulation in that place at all. It's gross

Even though they never clean the beer lines, bartenders sucks, and the food isn't great, I do enjoy going with friends and drinking on the balcony or in the one of the rooms upstairs. I can honestly say that I have never bought a drink downstairs.

Grits can't be the worst bar simply b/c of Blue Oak. Best chicken wings in town.
