City Bar is definitely not "my scene" but I've never had a bad time when I end up there. Jones and I drank and sat at a table watching all the skanks arrive for hours Friday night.

I went downtown the weekend of the lsu/bama game and I saw this place with a lot of people crowded around it. Just from the look doesn't seem like my type of bar.

Not my type of bar either. Probably because I walked past it once going from Happy's to The Office only to get caught in the line of fire of some guys... and I mean gun fire, with bullets... some guy shot another guy and then drove away.

The crowd and the "garage" are what makes Ivar's good.
Everything else about the place blows. Lucky for Ivar's most every bar in BR blows, so the crowd and back make it worth repeat trips.

AAA, The Station, The Office, City Bar, Sullivan's on Thursday night.
The following places just suck on general principle:
Happy's, Clicks, Fox and Hound, Boudreaux and Thibodeaux, Punchers
The next group could be great with some actual bar management and a makeover:
Hound Dogs, Bald Eagle,Ivars, Zee Zee Gardens.

if we're talking strictly bar, I'm going Ivar's.
Overpriced, crappy bartenders who like to overcharge if you run a tab, shite dirty taps, etc. The place is a hell hole, but has a loyal following of people who consider it a gem.
