Have the 4 probe Meater unit. It works great! Have had it for several years now and no issues, so far.

I've had 2 meaters for about 3 years now. They work great as a temp gauge, but I have had a few connectivity issues. The range is nowhere near what they claim.

Seems they increased the temp range quite a bit. And it looks thinner. Will definitely get this one if mine dies.

Can I get two probes and run them on the app at the same time?

I've been happy with this one. Comes with 4 probes, but not completely wireless like the Meater, if that's what you're looking for.

that new one looks amazing. I'm going to wait until it's released as a block, but I will be grabbing that when the time comes. The ones I currently have are great and will do just fine until then.

I’ve got a Meater one that was given to me. Works but you have to be within like 5 ft to get a reading

you can take a phone or a tablet and use it to bridge and make it wifi and can monitor temp from anywhere.

So you have to use a 2nd device? That seems like such a hassle.

I was super pumped about the meater but the connectivity is so damn frustrating.

I do that. My iPad is 5 feet away from the block which is 1-2 feet from the probes. It still sucks inside a smoker. In a skillet it is fine.

I just got over the fact that it will disconnect every now and then. The ease of use outweighs all of the tech stuff for me. I just hope the "meater 2" performs better.

currently using Meatstick which comes with its own bridge via bluetooth. Leave the bridge next to the recteq.

Yes. The closest device connects via Bluetooth and then connects to the meater cloud via WiFi to connect your other device

The plus model has a little further connection distance. I can connect to mine ~ 50 feet away

I have a Meater+. It only has bluetooth which does not have enough range. If you want to be in your house and check on your temperatures, you have to add another device closer to your pit that can connect to wifi and share the info. So if you are doing a long smoke, you better have that device plugged in to because the app will drain the battery on said device.

Dumb as hell that they couldn't just make the probe have wifi itself. I would get a probe that has wifi capability.

This is why you have to get the Meater Block. It is wifi while the other options are not. It's really limiting to do any other option, and that's also why I won't buy this new one until it is released with the Block.

Get a wifi one. I have the Tappecue from amazon and works well; even plots your temperatures. Its also one of the cheaper ones I believe, or it used to be at least.
