i meant our own genre of BBQ sauce. maybe thats the wrong word, but for example, SC has a mustard based BBQ sauce, others are thin & vinegar based, others are sweeter, etc. i guess we have louisiana type hot sauce, but it's not really a bbq sauce imo.

Haven't read the whole thread but all of you BBQ lovers need to come to New Orleans for the Hogs for The Cause event out at City Park.
If you can't find some BBQ out there that you like, you probably have no taste

Interesting thread. Would a Louisiana sauce be sweet and spcicy? Maybe a satsuma/creole tomato based sauce with some heat to add to it.

NOLA BBQ has stepped up Post-K. The Joint is fiya and the new place on Magazine called McClure's is legit. Saucy's or Walker's is probably third.

FTR I think Memphis & KC have best BBQ...Texas BBQ sucks

I generally agree, but the best BBQ I ever had was in a small town in west Texas. (Don't remember the name).

Dallas used to have an awesome place called Sonny Bryan's. A hole in the wall place that cooked the same amount of meat everyday and closed when they ran out. Now it's a chain and no better or worse than any other chain.

I have always wondered that. I make a damn good slab of ribs and I plan on entering some tournaments once Im out of school. When I win, I will open up some good places in the state.

Memphis is not for me. Dry rub is not my style

Eastern north carolina is my favorite bbq. Love the vinegar base

Then georgia has a very nice culture

KC is so good because they do it all

Austin BBQ is legit. Lockgart is good, but overrated. There, I said it. Go to central market in luling 10 miles away. Freakin good

An austin-style beer garden with good beer and liquor would do well near LSU
