You will purchase a Pre-Sale “ticket” for $1.64 and add on additional items as to which products you would like to purchase.

Then don’t? No one is making you.

Why? It’s probably just passing along an eventbrite service fee to the customer or something. People just love to shite on the popular things here especially if they can say “ghost batch 2.8 was the GOAT, all you suckers missed the boat.”

For everyone that gets turned off by this, there will be 10X people excited to buy in.
Exclusivity and scarcity is what made GiTM so popular in the first place, so doing these sort of special releases is smart from a marketing perspective. Sure the ticket seems like a ploy, but you don't have to spend it on anything. $1.64 when you are paying $23 for a pack of beer is nothing.

I blame them for the recent $18-25 per 4 pack IPA bullshite that is going on. They've priced me out as a customer long ago.

You sound like someone who doesn't like when people discuss things on a discussion board.

Everybody and their mom knows that Ghost batch 5 was the best.

It's like a treat when I buy a six pack of Jucifer for $9.99!

Weird considering my last post was discussing what the fee might be. I replied to the following posts so feel free to point out the insightful discussion contained in them.

That’s so ridiculous
Not jumping on the constant need to complain about everything parish does =/= trying to stifle discussion.

Whichever DDH batch they had there last October was the best I’ve had. It was really fricking good.

Would love to taste test this DDH GiTM against Gnarmageddon.
A $15 4-pack pack of Gnarmaggdon could be tremendous value by comparison

Ghost in the Machine is a fine tasty DIPA. Delicious, and at $11-12 per four pack, gladly pick up from time to time at the store.
But the rest of you can have all this buying a ticket for the privilege of being able to buy a $22-24 four pack game.

Ghost made its way into north Georgia. I did not buy. Sure, it's a good beer, but I don't think it's $15/ 4pk good.
Eta: I don't blame a brewery for charging $23 for a limited release DDH, especially if they know the demand is there.

Remember that time Parish instituted a "charity" beer where they upped the price of the beer by about $4-5 and donated that portion to a charity? I believe it was a collab beer. Well, i remember saying that those prices are never going to come down. They will simply omit the "charitable donation" and keep the prices high. And here we are today, where every brewery owner is now charging $18/4-pack for beers that cost $14 max 3-4 years ago.

The more ridiculous thing is that they had a social media countdown all week just to announce that they are releasing 2 beers: A beer they have already made multiple times and another beer, to be announce at a later date
I stopped buying their beers for the most part. Reality is that their early success with Ghost has turned them into a nationally recognized name among craft beer enthusiasts. So they can release this beer at whatever price they want because their market is no longer the average craft beer drinker in south LA, its craft beer enthusiasts all over the country willing to pay top dollar to get this stuff shipped to them.

There’s plenty of good stuff for cheaper than that though. This isn’t 5-10 years ago when craft beer wasn’t found at every corner store or even Walmart. Most places have craft beer sets that are 75% or more of the total beer set.
But the market for $20+ 16 oz 4 packs is there so they’ll keep making them. I don’t think it will be that high long term so once this bubble bursts, hopefully they go back down for good.
Edit: and geauxpack just nailed it. Parish is nationwide. Look at the comments on that IG post. People from all over trying to trade for these beers. They’re in the league of tree house, et al now. Not just south LA.
