There used to be some guys worked at Rendon Inn and Prytania Bar that were originally from Lafeyette area that made some great cajun food. But they were transplants and I think theyre long gone.
Sad cause those guys were great cheap eats.

I remember one time at least 2 years ago the wife and I stopped there for the first time and we saw they had fresh cracklins. I asked how much a lb. and the guy behind the counter said they usually sold it by the quarter pound and it was $7.50----------so I'm quick with the math and that worked out to $30 a lb. which was insanely priced.
Good Lord! That's F'd up.
Speaking of high prices...I was at Fresh Market yesterday and happened to see a package of mortadella on the shelf. It was $9 for 4 oz. I'm well aware that Fresh Market is expensive, but $36/lbs for pork sausage is ridiculous. For comparison, Boar's Head mortadella is $9.86/lbs at Publix.

Siap, but Nor Joe Import Market sells 9” muffaletta rounds for $3.49 apiece. Easy to get to from the fairgrounds. 505 Frisco Ave., Metairie, just a short drive from I 10.

Props, Buck Dancer! I had my buddy pick up 15 lbs of Boudin By Jamison's boudin. I test drove some of the crawfish boudin tonight and it was F'n delicious! I can't wait to try the pork!

Where can we find it, dude?
Order through his Facebook page and he does dropoffs on Thursdays or markets over the weekend.

Chris' specialty foods in lakeview has great boudin as well as many other great products, thank me later
Thanks for posting...some people get upset when I mention Chris's even though my best friend's own it.
Chris's on West End Blvd has excellent boudin and its NOT far from Jazz Fest. Also, Chris's is providing the Cracklin's for Jazz Fest...tell them I sent you ;)

He got my friend's order messed up and didn't have the 5 lbs of crawfish boudin that we'd ordered when my buddy went to the market to pick it up. To make it right, he (or someone) dropped off the boudin at my friend's airbnb while he was at Jazz Fest.
