Just took me 5 minutes to travel from Foster to downtown on North. One thing this honkey knows is that parallel streets generally go the same direction.
This. I never take Government anyway because somebody always is blocking the left lane to turn across traffic. Florida and North move just fine and Glenmore will get me from Government to almost Perkins. I work on Corporate and can get to Curbside/Calandro's or Rocca in literally 5 minutes via back roads. If I took Government, it would be more than double that as it is before the road diet. I don't know if Government will be better or worse afterward, but that won't impact my route to the places I visit.

He’s a media personality. Everything he producers seems to a bit average. I wouldn’t expect any of his creations to blow you away.

I'm pretty lukewarm on the very idea of his taco place. I mean, ill try it. But I'm mostly tryna get in on that Chow Yum Phat action. They posted a picture of some kimchi tater tots on their instagram the other day that made me feel some kind of way.

I went to their pop up at iverstine last month and thought the tacos were good for fusion gringo tacos. Very flavorful with interesting flavor combinations. Between the tacos, the ramen and the pizza at white star, im excited for the opening. Only thing im not looking forward to is the parking, the lot seems kinda small for a place like that.

Albertson's across Govt should be able to handle some overflow they'll receive.

I will probably never know. I'm not willing to pay $4.50 for 1 taco. Some people definitely will though because it has his name attached to the product.

I tried his overpriced BBQ sauce and it's just ok, and super watery

How is it going to be great? Serious question. I’ve seen the traffic studies. And I know our population.
FTR, I ONLY get on Govt to hit Calandros, Radio Bar, and such. This is not going to turn out how y’all dream.
Because it's not meant to make your occasional drive shorter. It's meant to make your occasional drive safer. Have you ever tried to take a left on government with someone in the opposite direction also trying to take a left? You have to hold your breath and hope nobody is going to be flying down the other lane.
It's meant to help all the businesses in the area. They dont want highway traffic. They want foot traffic, bike traffic, and slow passing vehicle traffic.
It's also meant to help all the people that live in the growing surrounding neighborhoods. It gives them a safer path along Government to bike and walk to the businesses they frequent. Have you ever walked on that sidewalk on Government street right now? After a couple cars pass a couple feet from you going 45, you don't really want to walk there again.

You’re right crossing six lanes of traffic in Baton Rouge during rush hour is a brilliant idea.... Genius.

If you're hungry enough, you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

Good thing they're only charging $3.50 then.

I am fully aware of the reasoning. And again, I don't travel that area. I have no skin in the game. I just doubt that the area will become some bustling haven of pedestrian traffic.
Again, I hope I am wrong.

Unfortunately price doesn’t add to the taste of a taco.

I hate to keep this thread hijack alive, but...
Why do you doubt that? Obviously it's anecdotal, but I know I'll be using the bike lane on a regular basis to get to places like Radio Bar, French Truck Coffee, Simple Joes, Elsie's, Smokin' Aces, Garden District Nursery, CVS, etc. from my house in the Garden District. It immediately makes that whole area and beyond far more readily and safely accessible to people in the garden district and surrounding areas who are kind of in this position of "too close to drive, too far to walk".
