Hope everyone is making it ok. Sipping some Eagle Rare in Sandestin and going back and forth with several friends and family that stayed.

Cuban liqours is the best for whiskey imo: no secondary pricing and solid store picks. They currently have a 1792 FP pick and a makers mark private select (I was on the pick and can personally attest to how killer it is!)

Corks and cuts and p&s in south shreveport are both run by great guys and have solid selections.

Stay the frick away from Tonys....dude marks stuff up and picks are garbage.

Good to know, thanks!

I’ve only been to the liquor store by Kroger, I think it’s called thrifty. I will hit up Cuban next time

That's correct...thrifty vary by location. I almost always pop in cause I never know what I'm gonna find. Went in once and found the only bookers of a batch I'd seen in Shreveport, went into another one and found MM wood finished series priced like regular makers, some people have gone in and found WT CS rye price like regular WT rye..... 98% of the time tho you don't find anything but daquris and people cashing checks.

But yea...you really can't go wrong with Cuban

What places should I hit up in Atlanta for some whisky hunting while I’m here? I plan to go to ASW either Friday or Saturday, but I’d also like to check out the good stories for any potential finds.

Hey Chip, welcome and check back often...similar situation, evacuated the family to Miramar Beach.

Did a 16-hour day driving to NOLA and back to check on houses for me and my folks. Nothing catastrophic damage-wise so all good news for now.

Undocumented pours because I am tired as hell:

Afternoon baws. I've been hitting the grape juice as of late and have been neglecting the brown water. Picked up a bottle of Nulu and Wilderness Trail 6 year today - gonna be having some neck pours tonight!

Ida has killed this thread, but not my whiskey hunting. Landed those rebel and starlight bottles out at Lincoln road, and just grabbed the two JD BP bottles and another Colonel in the ATL. One limit buy so I’m heading back tomorrow to grab another. There were 6 when I got this.

I’ve been seeing it and wondering the same thing. That’s one steep price point.

1PD is my fresh crack in the ATL
