Have not posted in this thread for a while but I have an ongoing experiment.
4 months ago I filled the little wood cask up with Dewars. Which is now in the craft. I will be sampling the original Dewars as well as the 4 month “aged” Dewars. The color of the aged seems to be a hint darker than the original. Nose is slightly lighter for the cask batch. After I taste I’ll post back.

One benefit of evacuation was getting to stop by Maisano's.

I don’t have the refined pallet to talk about hints or this or that I just know what tastes better. After tasting both the bottled Dewars and 4 month cask aged Dewars the cask aged was much smoother and a better sip.
I will have another tasting next February or March. I filled the cask up with Dry Sherry and plan to let that sit for 2 months then fill it back up with Dewars and go 3-4 months and see what happens.

Happy birthday. Enjoy it before the world ends!
What you think of that Calumet? I finally pulled the trigger on the 15 yesterday. At first I thought it was not worth it and I had buyers remorse, but then after a few minutes in the glass and a moment for my palate to adjust I was greeted with a wonderful explosion of flavor. It is truly great. I’m glad I dropped the coin on that one

Very good. Toffee, caramel, cinnamon, brown sugar. A lot going on with classic Wild Turkey profile.
